The "NO REINSTATEMENT" thread.

big dawg, you stated that suspended members have received letters from the USEF about what steps they need to take to reapply. May I ask what the steps are? Did you see one of these letters?

And as for my lament about insurance rates going up due to the horse killer circle’s actions, I am aware that other lowlife scam-artists in the world have negatively affected how various types of insurance is handled.

I, however, as a horse lover, am free to bemoan the fact that PV et al had such a negative effect on the horse insurance industry. I have never applied for worker’s comp. or unemployment insurance and so I don’t feel a need to complain about the dishonesty in those circles.

I believe that the suspended people do have a right to reapply for reinstatement. I believe even more strongly in the little peoples’ right to express to the USEF that those who kill horses for insurance money don’t deserve a USEF membership.

And that’s exactly my point. A television show about some riding teenagers has nothing to do with 10 year old news (the kids in the program were what…8 years old max at the time of this news?) for an organization people outside of horses have never heard of.

Dear Big Dawg, fortunately the vast majority of people are unllike you.

We are honest, sincere and well intentioned. I think everyone who knows me realizes there is 100% accountability for every penny and I never even deduct my personal costs when I make an effort to support a good grassroots program to accomplish a general good thing.I know there is no situation where anyone has ever believed I cheated them in any way.

Aside from my personal feelings about your statement it will be handled by our non-profit corporation which is a 501©(3) and which is bound under Federal Law through the IRS not to cheat with donations.

Although some may think they can use a non-profit as a personal bank, I don’t!

I didn’t make a “statement”. I just asked two legitimate questions. I have not seen any info as to the name of the 501 [c] [3] organization nor its tax ID #…so I asked if you were making a profit selling these…Why are you so hostile…are you afraid I assumed you had something to hide? I think that anyone paying you money should know the details of the “charity” you represent…and if you have nothing to hide you would gladly give it.

I’d imagine this administration can find a few other ways to see their position besides the two options you’ve offered there.

I am sure they CAN…however, what true other issues are there?

Snowbird has clearly stated the tax id# and the 501©(3) info. BD, you portray yourself as a troll.

I sent 50 out to California but the rest were just mailed today. We had to get a bulldozer to get to our mailbox today.

I don’t know how many others were sent out beside mine. It took awhile to get them and then figure out how to make paypal work for us so you could use any credit card or your Paypal account.

Snowbird-where did you get your bracelets from? I am getting mine from reminderband.com and the cardinel red for 20 plus shipping makes it $2.35 a piece, and that is without the white lettering, which is an additional .25 per bracelet. But I spose if you order them in larger amounts at a time that will make them cheaper in the end. I am just leery of ordering a ton and then not being able to get rid of them. Do you want me to not order any more and let you handle it? I thought that with as much as you have on your plate, I would try to ease you of that burden. Fed Ex is hurtling my way with another 20 which should be here shortly, many of which had been spoken for.

The Federation does not exist except for the members. So if the members get cranky and call the Attorney General of New York they might enforce a lot of rules pertinent to a New York Non-Profit where no one is supposed to do anything for profit in either money or prestige. This is an educational charity. Supporting only the High Performance folks who can afford the expense might not be what New York had in mind when the IRS granted USEF a non-profit status.

You see you really can’t have it both ways. You can’t say no one who isn’t rich can afford to be competitive and then claim to be a charity.

And, if they lose their non-profit status they can’t be an NGB so we’re all back to square one. You never know when someone will play the “Go to Jail” card.

Why thank you harryjohnson. We think he is pretty special. Don’t have any current photos, but at the moment he is in a good growth stage/balance, and he still looks pretty much the same.

Seconded.

Come on peeps, let’s be careful and stick to the real issues.

The reality is that while the horse PROBABLY IS owned by a suspended party, there is NO WAY for USEF to prove that. Unfortunately.

And, being strictly fair, this is hardly the first instance of such razzle-dazzle with paperwork in the history of the horse biz, either. It’s one of those things “everyone” does, though “everyone” definitely shouldn’t. As such, frankly, the topic doesn’t hold a great deal of interest to me.

Anthem, it’s been said so many times I feel foolish saying it again.

He can feel remorse. That is good. That doesn’t mean he should be forgiven, and it doesn’t mean people will WANT to forgive him. Murderers in jail often feel remorse-- does that mean they should get out on parol?

I’m sorry xegeba you’re right and I will rephrase. My new glasses are not helping much at all and the eye doctor is looking for a better solution.

So far we have been given no good reason why the conviction of anyone should be approved and the only evidence is the legal paper trail.

What I meant to say was that so far we have no facts to indicate any reason why any of these convictions should be forgiven.

The only hard evidence is the paper trail of the legal actions which ended in conviction.

The conclusion to me is there is no evidence of any reformation and therefore I am still opposed to re-instatement based purely on the facts. No mediating information is available to the contrary.

I think the most deviant defense was that those who were the recipients of the cooperation of PV for justice are somwhow behind this plot to keep him from being re-instated. That is truly an amazing spin.

You and I definitely agree on that.

I hate that horses and showing have become an “industry.” I think that is the basis for most of my complaints, and the corruption I see going on around me. And, aside from the emotional response I have to what PV did, I think he represents the “industry element” that I’d like to see removed from the USEF. I know he’s just one of many, but we have to start somewhere…

Seb

But I do think that those who feel passionately about it should keep tabs on PV and his comings and goings, documenting violations when they occur.

stalk 2 (stôk)
v. stalked, stalk·ing, stalks
vv.tr.

  1. To pursue by tracking stealthily.
  2. To follow or observe (a person) persistently, especially out of obsession or derangement.
  3. To go through (an area) in pursuit of prey or quarry

I never said I am a supporter of what happened.I only said it was not uncommon, people knew it was done. I didn’t say it was okay.

Really? I think even Erin (Bless her for dealing with us!) knows that all of the above posts are well written, informative, and honestly, are mature.

Thanks for the Edit Erin! Sometimes I need those little reminders after a long day working! I apologize for any nastiness!

That’s super Zorro and I expect by Monday to have the Pay Pal Link up for anyone who wants a red “No-Reinstatement bracelet” or to make a donation to the fund. I can be emailed or phoned for credit cards and the address is on the usAHSA.org web site…

that’s great - I didn’t want to take one of SNL’s bracelets as I am not out on any of those circuits where they really need to be seen but I would like to a)show my support and b)wear it to shows so that I can explain to others the significance

Yes, of course, I see what you are saying now. And I was talking about Snowbird’s initial post.

The last two posts (previous Erin) posts are so…“topic”…just a bump/pointer for the NO REINSTATEMENT.
