The Oaks CSI pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!

-------Warning!!!--------

Those who are bandwidth impaired will hate this thread. I profusely apologize.

Let me just say that this was show jumping at it’s finest. That is all.

I went crazy with the Mavica, so first up is a picture of the folks from this board that finally got to meet. A few of you didn’t show (you know who you are ), but those that did were treated to a spectacular afternoon. Everyone was so nice, and it was great to put a name to a face.

Left to right-AAJumper, Caktuskate, coreene, akrogirl, and Taryn.

So sorry akrogirl! I’m warming up PhotoShop as we speak!

Next up was Misti Cassar and Fahrenheit, who had 8.

I also forgot to photograph the next entry, Francie “Deinwudel” Carvin and Laddidor. I blame the champagne.

Alison Firestone and Casanova drove a really long way to get 4 faults.

Okay, I will admit that I had a brief episode of Rodrigo Fever.

Wow, what a great bunch of photos! You did a wonderful job of sharing the moment.

Judging by the photos, I wonder if we should start our own GPA/skunk helmet franchise… or does absolutely everyone have one already?

Great pics! I felt like I was there!

I just logged on for today and have to add my thanks to Taryn for the absolutely stupendous pictures! I almost felt that I was there.

Cheers, Maggi

Taryn, these are great pictures. Thank you for doing this. They are really phenominal!!

My personal preference is the group shot

Taryn, take as much space as you need - we loved seeing all the photos. And I have to agree with some of the previous posters - you did an awesome job of capturing the riders at just the right position over the fence My own previous attempts at action photos have been pretty pathetic!

AAJumper - good luck this week. I wish I could be there to watch.

It’s so great to put faces to names! I hope you guys had a great time!

Here is a lovely picture of Ray Texel and Fleur Z. The mare is awesome, but I could not deal with her attitude. Nice ears sweetie. However, they put in the first clear of the day!

Molly Ashe pulled up Kroon Gravin half way through the course. The announcer mentioned an over reach.

Here are a couple of pictures of my favorite, Joe Fargis and Edgar. The man sweats class. I’ve noticed that he and Edgar either win or come in dead last, yet today he had a very unlucky 4 faults. I actually wept.

The entire audience was completely silent during his round. Not one peep. He rode conservatively, and while he was clean, he incurred 1 time fault.

I think I screamed “HE WAS ROBBED!!!”

Well I will try to jump in with a blow by blow for you dublin. I really wish you could have made it too. It was such a special weekend.

My treat, provided my my aquaintance, Ashley Taylor and her gracious invitation to join her in the VIP tent, was to die for. We had excellent seating both Saturday and Sunday in the Vip tent. The catered luncheons were excellent, and Saturday we did consume our fair share of the cabernet sauvignon I might say. So when Taryn says they missed a round for the dessert table, I say it was a worthwile stop. Yummmmy.

It was heart wrenching to watch Keri Potter-Pessoa’s fall on Saturday. Details on results post on H/J board.

After a lovely afternoon of sea breeze weather and great horse show jumping, Ashley and I then had a wonderful dinner at the Cedar Inn restaurant in San Juan Capistrano.

Sunday the plan was for the CoTH group to meet in front of the VIP tent at 1:00 pm. We had given clues for attire so we might recognize each other. As Ashley and I are wandering through the vendor area, I turn and what do I spy but a woman sporting a sweater with an American flag. I immediately said, “You must be Coreene???” And yes it was, with Taryn. We had a fun visit, coreene gave Ashley some advertising tips on her display ad in Riding magazine, poor dear couldn’t get away from working. Ashley is James Taylor Ranches and brokered the hay for the event.(Shameless plug for those who might need hay) Then we went on our way until 1:00.

I met up with Coreene and Taryn again at the VIP tent, when we were soon approached by akrogirl and introduced ourselves. Come to find out she rides in Phoenix at a barn my friend just visited while trying horses. Then AAjumper appeared and we were pleased to hear she had had a very successful go earlier in the weekend with her jumper mare. We waited for awhile for more, but alas we were the contingent.

Then we “conned” a couple of the cutest young gals that were ticket-taking at the VIP tent to do the photos for ALL of our cameras. They were so cute and really seemed to enjoy being involved.

We went our seperate ways and enjoyed the rest of the show.

Thanks to Taryn’s great digital camera, we have up close and personal photos so quickly. Isn’t technology great?

Sorry DMJ - no photo. Our brains weren’t functioning suffiently well at 5.30am to even think about bringing a camera Of course, we also forgot to bring sunscreen since the word we got was to expect cool (by our standards) and cloudy, so we are all now a glorious shade of red I’ll probably start to peel just in time for next week’s show

Heaven forbid AAJumper! You see, I have a hard enough time riding without distractions…

too cool though.

The schedule last week was just so un-working person type friendly. So we are heading out this week…me and like 7 or 8 children’s jumpers! These kids are so good. Amazing.

Thanks Akrogirl…my goal is just to have a consistent ride with no (or only minor) mistakes on my part. When I think like that, the ribbons will follow (well, usually, at least one or two!).

DMJ, will you be doing the Low A/A’s also? I’m doing both the lows and the AA’s Fri-Sun.

Next was local boy Richard Spooner and Robinson. It was not his day, and he racked up 12 faults. His poor mother.

I will now subject you to two pictures of Heather Olson and Johnny Ba Arabat. He was to cute!
