Another twist, another turn.
Jets lovely owner, took him to a local show for me to ride on Friday. It was such a great day, seems I really do need a team to enjoy life. He was his usual self, great fun, and safe!
We didn’t trouble the judge much, got a 6th place ribbon in a class of 6 :ROFLMAO: but had so many NRW’s (non ribbon wins) from going over the bridge, twice, without hesitation, to getting over his near melt down at doing the gate first time through the trail class, to ROCKING it, on the second run. Well when I say rocking it, we scored 0, because I had to go to using two hands, but I was so pleased with him. He has legitimate concerns over anything that might possibly be an electric fence, that includes rope gates!
I did not let our lack of a lope worry me in our early classes, I went with, if you can’t get a lope, make sure you have a great trot, which I did. We did eventually find our lope, to much cheering from everyone! It was such a lovely day. Then Jets owner dropped the bombshell, would I like to take him to CNC! I thought about the pros and cons, there were far more pros, so Jet is coming to the barn for a month for me to really get to know him, then off to CNC we go! Going to be a different experience with Jet, will be such a great learning experience, zero expectations of doing anythjng other than just improving my skill set.
For the first time in a while, I am excited about going, Nothing to prove, so much to gain. Dropping down from level 2 to level 1, and that’s fine, Jet is not built for speed, AND the fact that the grade horse and I have a combined age that is at minimum 87, but more likely in the 90’s that is a good reason for not pushing it
Now to think of a good name for him for his WE registration, when he was doing English dressage friends daughter a few years back she did have an awesome name for him, but no one can remember what it was just “Something Awesome” so that’s in the list at the moment. Other suggestions are Benny and the Jets, Cool your Jets, Leaving on a Jet Plane,
Need to settle on something soon, because I have to get the registration in.
