The Thoroughbred Company - Beware!

I bought one of my OTTB’s from them sight unseen except via internet video and pictures. I think I got exactly what I paid for, and of course a 2 year old horse needs some training! Their videos are to show how the horse moves, and with a rider on its back. The horse was and is lovely, but needed a year of riding and training to fill out. This is normal for a very young and affordable and only partially trained horse! These comments against the farm are absurd, the woman gets cheap horses out of auction, puts them together and tries to sell them before the real training starts. Sounds fair to me. PS my sweet mare has had a phenomenal first few years and I would never have been able to afford her if I had found her fully trained elsewhere. Make your own decisions, if horse looks interesting, its always worth a call. You never know where you will find the “diamond in the rough”

Mooooooooooooore houseguests!

Funny there is a new thread about them. Apparently their new name is Thoroughbred Sport Horses. They are pretty predictable. Every time someone get on and comments about them a “new” user pops up and defends them. At least their spelling and grammar is getting better.
I wonder how they keep all of their user names on here straight?

What auction? One only needs to look these horses (since she provides their pedigrees)up on equibase to know their history. She gets them off the track for free from trainers.

Bumping up a months old thread to defend somebody also allows very easy reading of various details keeping them fresh in everybody’s mind and introducing them to newbies without fooling with search.

So thanks for keeping them alive and well on page one.

Another victim of Sandra Lattanzio misrepresentation…

Wish I’d seen these posts sooner. If anyone would like to comment about this scammer and how she misrepresents her horses for sale to the public I’d like to hear your experience. Has anyone returned a horse? Brought suit? Please PM me as well if you’d like.

No need. Just search this topic on here, try “Churchill Thoroughbreds”. Or Google her name for court records.

Wait a second I thought these people had a 100% satisfaction with their customers according to their Facebook page. What about their exchange policy? Guess thats not legit either (insert sarcasm)

“She” is all about misrepresentation and deception. I’ll be happy to keep posting accurate info here as soon as I move further along in my “return” process. I feel swindled and I’m sad for the poor mare that has to endure a return trip of 14 hours. Advertising a 16.1 horse with no vices and shipping a 15.2 cribber is dishonest and criminal. She doesn’t care about the horse or her customer. If anyone has been fortunate enough to get the horse they expected they should count their blessings and not try their luck again. I’ll be back with updates.

Can you do us, and the rest of the horse buying public, a favor and start a new thread about your journey? Tagging it on the end of this old thread will not reach your maximum intended audience plus the farm name has changed yet again.

Title it something like “How not to buy”. Stick to your personal experiences. Don’t editorialize or get personal but you can name the farm and owners without accusation- that way mods will let it roll.

There is at least one regular (at the time, few years ago) poster who bought sight unseen and was promised something like you were and got something like you did.

Oh, oh, be sure you complain to the BBB which they recently became a member of according to their website.

Despit the fact we all know we need to exercise due diligence, we have all been taken in by somebody at some point and it’s up to us not to slink off in embarrassment but come forward and ensure deceptive business practices are not allowed to continue.

Agree 100%! The Lattanzios are the worst of the worst! I am sorry you are now suffering but sharing your experience will help others and shed light on the gross lies they continue to spread!

Indeed, but in your own thread. We are waiting for it. And good luck to you and that poor little cribbing mare…wish there were a better place for them when they lie and ship something you just cannot keep. Shame on them for shipping you or anybody else something like that.

New thread to be coming soon…

Thank you to all who’ve commented and the good suggestions that you shared. Once the mare is returned safely I would be happy to post a new thread as to be more effective and gain the most attention. I will update all and hopefully my experience will prevent another potential owner and horse from this emotionally upsetting and also financially painful experience.

I’ll let everyone on this thread know when I start something new.

I’m curious they post all the time about horses they have “successfully” sold on their Facebook page. What was the name of the mare you bought?
Poor mare and any other horse they get their dishonest hands on!

My house is currently named Coarse Manor. I think I am going to re-name it - “ruthless manor.” Thanks for the laugh, “Lehia.”

Just curious how the “return policy” is going?

Using my Sunday night (aka my Friday night for those of you who are also in the horse industry and have Mondays off :] ) to read up on the Lattanzios. I did NOT expect such entertaining material! Gotta love google and forum searches. Can’t wait to hear this new story…

I know right! I cant wait to see if their 100% satisfaction rate and return policy worked out
