heartfelt thank you’s for the positive energy!
Liz, Kathleen and Mary Lou…
heartfelt thank you’s for the positive energy!
ahf, I had no idea you were leaving the breeding business. Fingers and toes crossed for a filly black dot for you.
Very cool! Told you it wasn’t too bad to breed with frozen;)
I have two confirmed and just waiting on second checks
Whizzo is in foal to Donarweiss
(caught on first try)
Wraina is in foal to Desir du Chateau
(maiden caught on first try)
And hopefully I will be breeding my last mare Charm to Grafenstolz in the next two weeks (been held up having to clean her up)–and hopefully she will catch on the first try too!
Rexana was bred via live cover to Cathalido during the quarantine process for his return from Germany and she is in foal, but we monitoring the pregnancy as she is also farming a bunch of cysts.
Valeta was bred to Landwerder/Silver Lining via frozen semen June 2nd.
Caritas was bred to Validation on June 7th.
Our ET mares just arrived today, so we are ready to get started with Parquette, Ca-ching, and Vega!
Today two checked in foal after the two week wait:
Mirabella:Metternich/Winston/Cardinallxx to Dacaprio
Florabella:Fabuleux/Metternich/Winston to Dacaprio
left to breed-
Donna Castania to Licotus or Benidetto
Fabiola B to Romanov
Sana’a is due her 30 day check next week. She is in foal to Benidetto.
Congrats Peg!!! You know how much I love your Dacaprio filly this year, what a beauty
I’m back in the two week wait with Peggy Sue. She was inseminated yesterday with Romanov semen, and I’m holding my breath again.
We’re back in the 2 week wait with you Clint!
EM Amelia, my 19yr old matriarch, having had her cyst removed and her flushing completed, was bred to Edelweiss de Bonce over the weekend and had ovulated as of this am…the two week wait begins.
Secret has her 30 day check on Weds am and drumroll…we are checking Kurtaxe on Weds for a Contendro I pregnancy, and I am trying (unsuccessfully) not to get too excited about this one!
I’m also in the two week wait. After a dramatic day when the stud rang at lunchtime to ask when the semen was due to arrive. “It should have arrived before 9am.” Oh.
A quick phonecall to the vets who collected the stallion confirmed that the collection had been posted the night before. They then phoned the post office who traced the parcel and found that it had been “mis-sorted” but not to worry, it would be delivered the next day.
The collecting vets explained exactly why that would be of no use to anyone and rang to say they could do another collection that afternoon and courier it over. Would that be OK? Ummm yes, that would be wonderful!
Second shipment arrived at 5pm, stud vet arrived and AIed my mare with the freshest semen you could wish to have. Just got to hope she’s taken now. The two week scan is due on 22nd June.
Third mare (by Brentano II) bred on sunday to Dauphin. Will spend the 2 next weeks with fingers crossed!
was bred to Edelweiss de Bonce over the weekend
I foaled an EDB baby here last year and he is a super leggy, elastic, handsome sweetie pie. Branded Premium Oldenburg at his inspection even though he was 25 days early, windswept, and out of a fairly plain vanilla TB mare. Just about a year old now.
Guess I’m in the two week wait club now . . . bred my little Shetland to a mini stallion and after 13 days in heat  and six coverings she finally decided enough was enough.
They had to stand the stallion on a little mound to make it happen, totally adorable.
Charisma (Contucci - At the Thresholdxx) confirmed in foal to Qredit today.
Tiadora (Tantris - Dachs) in foal to Donarweiss, but with conjoined twins…grrr. She will be rechecked over the weekend. Hopefully they will resolve naturally.
Our Contender mare had a year off and is now waiting on a check to our 3yo stallion Canterbury (Canturo x Acord II x Corde Stam 776), bred by Uwe Bahlman and brought over last year.
Canterbury already has our Carvallo, Calypso II and Quinar mares in foal. As well as the Contender mare, we are awaiting results for outside mares by Olisco and Gonzo.
Our Campesino mare had a Concerto Grosso colt thismorning, and will also be bred back on the foal heat to Canterbury. After that, Canterbury will pick back up on his work, having been started in the spring, and should be at his first show later in the year.
Two week starts today for 3 of ours! Two mares to Qredit, one to Royal Prince. Friday is d-day for one to Benneton Dream, second try. First was with Romanov. Wasn’t pregnant & Romanov semen was unavailable Holding our breath, haven’t had much luck this year with frozen!
After a very quick Sat collection and Sunday insemination, I am counting the days to confirm a 2012 Banderas/Budweiser foal. Fingers crossed everyone’s hard work pays off!
Back in the two week wait with Contessa who was bred to Coconut Grove yesterday.
Just when we had thought we were done with these 2 week waits, which really do not put our minds at ease until we have reached 30 days…
Our Ana Bella (Condios x Ekstein) to be bred tomorrow to Calvados ( Uriel x Ibrahim xx). These bloodlines are certainly worthy of retention in our broodmare band if a filly and a colt should be a brave and powerful specimen somewhat taller than Ana. We hope to retain her handiness, rideability and outstanding front leg technique and add power and size.
This has been a crazy breeding season for us. I think we are at about a 30% conception rate right now? So far we have the following:
Royal Classic/Donnerhall/Pik Bube with a heart beat
Fuerstenball/Espri with a heart beat
Diamond Hit/Rubinstein with a heart beat
Fidertanz/Harvard in foal
To check:
San Amour/Harvard/Akzent II
Sir Gregory/Dormello/Rubinstein
Fuerstenball/Sir Donnerhall/Espri (Germany)
Am trying one last time with the following two and that is it:
Roi du Soleil/Lamentos/Tin Rocco/Vollkorn xx
Floriscount/Licotos/Quo Vadis/Furioso
Best of luck to all still breeding. I can’t wait to be done with this year (-:
Kashmere (Kalypso x Diamont) to Harvard was rechecked, and has a heartbeat.
My Calato mare is open from the breeding to Con Caletto I’ll switch to Quinar for a hopeful three-peat. I hate breeding in mid June!
Nikki is still in foal to Narcos II and it doesn’t look like I’ll breed Rilory since I’ll use my spare Quinar breeding on the other mare. Sigh.
