I saw this mare a while back. In fact, I liked her on paper so much I decided to look her up online. There was a blog started about her at some point in time. I do wonder why she has made the decision to sell her (because she sounded excited have her).

Maybe she just isn’t fertile.
The ad says she had a foal this year and it sounded like she’d had others previously… Unless she wouldn’t catch this year? She’s super cute though, and I love her pedigree.
(Impressive string of reines de course on that damline!)
Oh – though Straight Deal no less – my mare shares the same lines!
Straight Deal also has Turn To through Hail to Reason.
These posts are from another thread I started quite some time ago asking about my mare’s linage:

Then you have several crosses to Teddy, including one to Big Hurry, a daughter of La Troienne. That means the tail female line of Straight Deal is one of the most royal you can find in TB land, and Teddy is one of the best sires of the Twentieth Century. Since you’ve got the cross of the La Troienne line to the Hail To Reason line, it’s no wonder that Straight Deal was the real deal.
Being as So Endearing is the full sister to Universal (my mare’s dam sire) the quotes above apply here.

She’s got a 2012, then a 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005.
Possible that they had troubles getting her to catch in 2009/2010, sold her on and the 2012 was just lucky, I suppose…

She IS nice. I think they’ll be really lucky to get what they’re asking for her though in this economy unfortunately.
I read the blog. The blogger seems to have gotten this mare, maybe for free, in October of this year. She doesn’t seem to have had much recent horse experience and the mare essentially knew nothing about being a riding horse. Perhaps the blogger was just overfaced with the mare. But if she got her for free in October and can flip her for 2,500, the blogger will be making a very good profit in only three months.
Still can’t figure out from the blog if the writer was in KY when she got the mare, but the Craigslist ad is in Ocala. If the blogger moved to Florida, that might explain the quick flip attempt also. The blogger may have also never owned the horse and was working with her on the owner’s farm in KY. And it’s the original owner who is still trying to sell her from the Florida Craigslist.
The mare is in Lexington. The woman is experienced but got busy with November sales as she’s a bloodstock agent. She also admitted to being a weather wuss, so the mare is sitting. She thought of breeding her in 2013 but her job situation has changed, hence the sale of her.

Nice mare , great lines. Hope someone picks her up cough Fred * cough*:winkgrin:
I wish.
I spent all last week so anxious about a mare at FL, and then was very happy to find out that one of our own coth members has bought her.
I love the looks of this mare, and her pedigree, and think it would be a terrific match.
