Suggestions for nearly all TB or TB stallions for sport horses purposes available - shipped or LC. No frozen suggestions please. If they are proven to sure horses that can jump, fantastic :yes:
Salute The Truth
Jaguar Mail
Sea Accounts
Sea Elephant (Sea Lion?) xx, who is a confirmed 3* event horse (http://sporthorse-data.com/d?i=10869273) ; Virginian Sky–grey Trak bred in Germany out of a TB mare–very high percentage blood (http://sporthorse-data.com/d?i=10548247). Both approved Trak. Mystic Replica may still be standing. Hunter–1/2 TB in California, but the TB is Heraldik.
Depending on where you are (ie there are many more TB choices in Area II than other places) there are quite a few regional TB sires who have produced sport horses and foxhunters. In Virginia are Castle Cove, Fun and Fancy Free, Default and Xenodon, among others.
One thing I noticed about the one Hunter offspring I’ve seen competing is that it didn’t have the best gallop for eventing.
I’ve been keeping an eye on:
Silverado Kinda Guy, son of Truckin’ kinda guy;
Fun and Fancy Free, because of the whole Bally Cor lineage (Tad Coffin’s Olympic mare);
one of Trish Quirk’s (spelling?) Best of Luck stallions is actually 90%+ blood (I think)
Hap (by Theatrical) might come onto sporthorse market
freshman sire (at least in sporthorse world) Talbot (by pleasant tap) has a winning look and available fresh.
there is considerable talent to be had and made if you’re willing to explore. Best wishes in your endeavor (or should I say “welcome to the darkside”…tee hee)
The Twain–full TB who sired our west coast YEH champ. Has several competing offspring, newly in sport hands. Stands at Dragonfire Farm in Wilton CA. Great temperament on the babies.

We are very pleased with our filly by Sea Accounts and hopefully have a full sibling in the oven. We have a client who has a beautiful yearling filly by Jaguar Mail (he I frozen though so wouldn’t work for you). We also now have 2 foals by our own TB stallion Wing Man out of mares owned by Sharon White. Very excited about both of them.
You can see pictures of all of them on our facebook page.
Hunter, by Heraldik
Hunter, by Heraldik. Offspring competing very successfully in eventing (Happenstance, High Times). 50% TB up front but I’d say babies “perform” like TBs with the Holsteiner thrown in for jump.

have fun searching and choosing!
Gatsby is in Canada but ships easily to the US. I am in love with my colt by him and re-bred the mare back for a full sibling in 2015. Well worth the look.

Stanislavsky, who is now standing at Jump Start Farm in KY, is a big up and coming sport horse sire. He has several TB offspring who are now on their 2nd careers, many in eventing. All have great movement and incredible jumps. He is also approved sBs and NAS. I know him well in person and he has the BEST personality and you couldn’t ask for a quieter stallion.

The Twain has a very interesting pedigree for the US because he’s out of a Sir Tristram NZ daughter, and his sire is Green Dancer. I’d think that any addition of Sir Tristram blood would be good for sport–eventing in particular.
Some really great suggestions! Can’t wait to take a look I knew COTH would have eyes on some nice TBs.
Probably pushing my luck, the unfortunate part of using a TB sire that takes a bit of legwork - any of these guys have good use of shoulder & neck, and that nice big step on landing? Might be a small sample size but that’s acceptable.
How is Wing Man? He has a very cool pedigree, I remember when you acquired him Good to see some Theatrical, and The Twain - nice to hear some are out there competing, haven’t heard of him either…or Stanilskavy…
Keep the info & suggestions coming :yes:
Ilian de Taute is over 70% blood and might be available fresh;
Olmpic Goldmedalist Windfall psG is close to 85% blood, might be available fresh;
Hero’s Tribute JC (by Sea Hero) has those nice Danzig/Damascus lines & is available fresh.
If I think of anymore, I’ll add.

We have a 3 year old filly by Ilian de Taute here for backing. She is going to be one powerhouse when she is finished growing and is fully mature.
Hero’s Tribute is in Canada and is partly owned by conformation guru Judy Wardrope, which would seem to be a damned good recommendation.
Claim to Fame is an Oldenburg Pinto stallion who is 75% TB…he’s a very elegant, beautiful stallion who was ridden by an 55+ amateur in the hunter ranks, after being ridden in the professional divisions successfully. He still holds the record as the ONLY tobiano pinto horse to EVER win at the Devon Hunter Breeding Show…He has many lovely foals on the ground now.

One of the very best horses I ever rode was a son of Green Dancer. He was a 600K Keenland sales yearling, who was a black type winner over hurdles, then evented through Training and was about to go prelim when he died in a pasture accident. But probably the best jumping and galloping horse I ever sat on, and was proving pretty gifted on the flat.
