Thoughts on "The Traveling Horse Witch?"

She said that she knows a breeder who does that and that she has been doing this for a couple of years now. This is at the end of the webinar from minute 40 ish.

Celeste is lying about the majority of her past. I do know her personally. It is a lie. I’m sorry you are being deceived.

I shudder.

Do I need to fill up a fresh teapot so that you can spill the tea?

I wasn’t at the clinic, but really wondered how that went – if Manolo was taken in by her, which the photo made it seem he was (which would be disappointing, he should know better!). The death porn is really disturbing, along with all the rest. Glad to hear Manolo wasn’t a sucker. Sorry her little group was so distracting, how rude.

She was totally ignored. Jillian mentioned her in passing as a bodyworker but there were several notable people in the group so Celeste did not stand out. Yes her little pack irritated us all and she did not make herself welcome. Typical of her, posting that photo and implying Manolo had embraced her and her work.

She has taken the hard and solid work of others, packaged it as her own, added heavy doses of social media ridiculousness and lies about her background. I know some excellent people who have been taken in and its frustrating. The work has value but its not hers.

I suspect she will crash and burn one of these days. But in the meantime she is riding high on lies and insinuating herself with bigger names.

Im disappointed in Wendy Murdoch that she doesnt see through her. Most of the others she has tried to glom on to have distanced themselves.

Shes toxic with a creepy energy.

100% I’ve known her since she was 9. This has always been the case. It’s terrible and I’m so sorry she is taking peoples hard earned money based on false information. I’m not saying she isn’t good with horses or a good rider, but she is lying about her credentials. There may be a reason she moved out of state.

I read somewhere that TAMI ELKAYAM has been banned/ blocked from her profile. Tami is another level!!!

Celeste has manipulated many people and taken their money. She does not have the credentials she claims and her childhood was not as she states. Celeste has a grand sense of herself. She may believe what she says. I’m not sure.

I mean, I think the majority of the posters on this thread understand that, but coming in here with vague statements doesn’t really help anything.

Receipts? These things have been hashed out for over 2000 posts, so I think the people still on this thread are aware she’s a charlatan. Vague posting like this isn’t adding to the conversation.

Now THAT, I agree with. One wonders when people like this start drinking their own Kool-Aid.

I understand what you’re saying. I do have some fear to go into detail. I am related and have known Celeste since she was a child. What she does in the horse world, hurting others, is something she does in her personal life and there are things at stake.

I know you’re telling the truth, and I understand that fear too. Horse world charlatanism is far from the worst thing about Celeste.

When I look at FB friends, it seems a LOT have been sucked in by her, and it’s disappointing to know they don’t have better judgement. Glad to know Manolo and Jillian didn’t, but even friending her on FB is a bad idea. Agree about Murdoch, but maybe one day she’ll figure it out, too. Tami E. did a thing with her a couple of years ago, it’s still online. Wonder what happened between the two of them? And sadly, Celeste isn’t the only one who has a charismatic social media presence and in reality doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I keep seeing them scooped up by other “influencers”, esp. podcasters who are always looking for more content. Had I not had my own personal exp. with one who’s popular now, I’d also think they were the next great thing. And no I won’t name them. I do know others who share their work on SM and they are the real deal, in person and online. I’m grateful to them for braving the SM waters, which are treacherous. Not all of us live in places where we can access some of the best in the horse world, and online courses have been a life saver for me. I’m in one now that is GREAT, but I also know the person teaching it and have done in-person clinics with them as well. It was a bit of an expensive process to learn how to look critically at online offerings and dig in to the background of the people before shelling out $$ for a course. I’ve got my list of valid sources now down to a handful, and I stick with them. Celeste isn’t one of them.

I saw a post today from someone (an adult) with their first horse. It was a video of a horse first stretching low will be free lunged (or maybe just trotting loose.) then it went to another clip of her riding him in this stretch, his nose well below his knees. The caption said something to the effect that she was getting negative feedback about how she was riding him in the stretch all the time but since he moves like that a lot at liberty, she feels it’s best for him. And that people basically don’t understand biomechanics. From her hashtags It looks like she is a student of the Balance Through Movement Method. I also wonder if there’s an influence of Art2ride because to my eye she’s riding very similarly to that. But maybe someone that’s familiar with the program can tell us more how they encourage people to ride.

There is nothing wrong with an adult amateur and maybe even a beginner, posting about what they enjoy and learning. But there is plenty of accounts like this and they post as if they are some type of authority, expert. It’s almost like they’re trying to It’s almost like they’re trying to “horsesplain” to those with years of experience and even professional careers. You know we just don’t understand biomechanics! Riding your horse with its nose near the dirt all the time is healthy?? Hmm.

This person has 63,000 followers. I guess there has always been self claimed “experts” in the industry but social media sure gives a wider audience. It’s a little scary. Because to my eye, This person is maybe trainerless, a novice rider and will probably have a broken horse in a few years. I know she already hinted at having front feet issues but doesn’t seem to think it’s related…

Not only do these programs confuse some of these poor people but it is like a cult! I noticed some people had posted their opinions and why they were worried about her riding her horse like that all the time. Some of these riders, were accomplished upper level riders, and this poster was totally dismissing them. She knows more about biomechanics and they are just brainwashed by dressage…

Sad. I hope she learns and just listens to a knowledgeable trainer at some point.

Plenty of people who don’t know what they don’t know.

I just bought a book The Horse in Positive Tension and haven’t read much yet, but it takes on the flawed thinking in this approach. Of course many people will recoil at the word “tension” and refuse to consider it.

Of course, nothing wrong with having much to learn yet (I personally love that there is so much to learn, always) but when people act as if they are newfound experts with an audience, it feels more harmful to me. Rolkur is for sure damaging but it’s not the only method that is. Training isn’t black and white which is why educated trainers are great.

Normally I wouldn’t think twice about someone riding their horse whatever way they want really, but the tons of followers and know it all attitude caught my eye. And the hashtags…

I’ll go back to taking my lessons and I will have to look into that book, Outerbanks! I love to read

You know what they don’t realize is that someday you have to package that walk in collection…and that can be a real B* if you’re flopping around on the forehand and stretching all the time. I’m not saying dont stretch - just that extremes can be overdone and it would be nice if these social media gurus posted with a 3rd level concept instead of every post at training level or below.

Well the poster I am talking about claims she’s just a pleasure rider BUT riding in that posture all the time still can be harmful regardless. And she learned it somewhere (The traveling horse witch?)
