They probably come with deep secret pockets.
Because nothing says “I’m not an influencer, I’m a serious, professional rider and trainer!” quite like “collaborating” with a clothing company to make rhinestone studded breeches called “the dragon.”
Waterproof too. Better use a LOT of cornstarch before trying to get those things on.
Im having a hard time understanding how breatheable and water proof go together. How do you get both!
Gore-Tex and other similar fabrics have pores that are too small to allow in raindrops but will allow our perspiration to escape.
There are also much higher-end fabrics that can do it as well but you pay through the nose for them.
You must not do much work outside…. These fabrics have been around for a while.
I do, and i am familiar with gortex, but when i think of gortex i think of having it hiking at a national park not riding on a horse all day. And if you had a covered arena, why would you need it water proof?
Plenty of people ride outside in rain. They hunt. Trail ride. They have to walk from the barn to the arena, sometimes quite a distance (1500 feet. Or even a mile.) Hold lesson programs outside. Etc. they also work outside. Bringing horses back and forth, etc.
Because not many places in the world have covered trails.
And you now have to pay for the $199 Masterclass, plus the $1,500 self study course, in order to be considered to join the nerve release “certification”.
Which will cost an additional, $2,000.
Plus if you want additional support during the course, that is $500 a pop.
AND to remain “certified”, it is a $500 annual fee.
She is making bank off of this nonsense.
Years ago I had the HIB blankets for the horses. Horse in Black. They were Goretex and I loved them in the winter!
This is so horrifying - and she’s requiring an “annual renewal”… She can’t even keep up with the paperwork to keep her LLC active, what makes you think she’s going to track all these people from these courses and make sure they’re not out there hurting horses with this baloney but hey, she’s certainly making money hand over fist with it!
I kinda view the renewal bit as financial Darwinism in action.
I like the part where homework assignments are included, but an actual review of the homework is not. That leads me to believe that the student could be out there, apart from these “classes,” flailing around on their own, getting no feedback as to whether their homework achieved a specific goal or if a particular technique was practiced correctly. What a fascinating teaching model.
a self study nerve release…sounds absolutely horrifying.
Could this type of “treatment” of a horse be considered practicing veterinary medicine without a license?
Don’t chiropractors and acupuncturists need to be licensed in the state in which they offer services? Would this be any different?
Anyone familiar with the appropriate regulations?
Varies on a state-by-state basis.
Usually not a priority with the authorities unless and until someone’s animal has an unfortunate outcome and the owner files complaints.
If I’m following correctly, the nerve release techniques went from “Other student’s can’t even watch me do it at a hands-on clinic because it’s so super secret and hard to teach” to “Go ahead and study it on your own with no oversight or feedback. It will be fine. Probably.”
Funny how the standards loosened up when she started making money hand over fist from gullible people
