A local schooling show offers ticketed rounds - non-judged, you get a small blue ribbon if you go clear in either the hunter or jumper ring. Ticketed rounds only on Friday, regular hunter and jumper divisions Saturday and Sunday. USEF rules apply, and people tend to treat it formally (braids and coats, barns do end of row set-ups though not super fancy, etc.) That being said, is it a total faux pas or grounds for dismissal if I were to take my horse in an illegal bit? (Myler combo - so no conventional noseband plus 3 ring)
I’m not planning on showing Saturday or Sunday, just thinking of taking my semi-green horse to do a round or two in a new environment over a show-type hunter course. Right now this is the bit my horse is going best in, so it would give me more confidence and hopefully him a better experience.
