Just wondering…
Do you tuck your shirt in when you school?
Just wondering…
Do you tuck your shirt in when you school?
Either I tuck or wear a fitted vest. I was always told it helped instructors see alignment without a boxy t shirt flapping around. Whether that is true or not, I do appreciate a neat presentation and prefer well fitted and neat riding clothes, regardless of body type or size.
Nope- once I got out of Catholic school where we got in trouble for having a shirt untucked- I have never, ever tucked a shirt in again and I hate the way tucked in shirts look
I hate the feeling and look of tucked in shirts, so I pretty much don’t tuck them in ever. If I have to dress up, I get shirts that are designed not to be tucked in. (I don’t show, so I don’t have to worry about it then.)
When it is 20F outside I tuck shirts in breeches…
Always, always tucked. Sometimes I ride in ratty, gross old t-shirts that I’ve cut the sleeves off and stained gnarly breeches, and I’m still tucked.
I just find it more comfortable.
I feel like wearing my shirts tucked in just emphasizes how short my torso is
However, I do tuck in my shirts while riding. Whenever I see video or pictures of my riding, it looks so much better with a tucked shirt.
I dont tuck my shirt in while riding unless I’m asked to, taking an important video, or showing. I’m just a lot more comfortable un tucked especially in hot weather
My question is do you tuck or untuck your horse’s forelock from the browband before your ride?
Always.
Always.
Always. Tucked.
Oh yeah!!! I absolutely tuck my horse’s forelocks into his browband (yes, he has three, two of which seem to stay braided) otherwise I get occasional inconvenient head tosses and I do NOT want that to become habit! The boy needs to see. That’s OK by me.
As to tucking my shirt in? I don’t dress formal for anything (yet) while riding, so the answer to that is no. I also have to wear a back support and a baggy T or sweatshirt helps hide it a little.
Definitely untuck the forelock.
I never ride with a shirt tucked in, unless I’m in a rat catcher and britches. But I ride primarily in polo shirts, so they are meant to be worn out and aren’t supper long. They were, however, tucked into the “waist” of my full chaps.
I never tuck in my shirt, it’s uncomfortable to me and I hate how it looks. I don’t typically wear big baggy tshirts though, I wear fitted tanks, fitted tees, fitted long-sleeved tees, polos, etc.
For those who DON’T tuck, do you still wear a belt with your breeches?
I usually tuck in my polo shirt when riding, nowhere else in life. My breeches have room for that. It just looks more “correct” to me in the saddle. English equestrian style seems to be about giving the impression of tidyness when you are in fact filthy and sweating.
I tuck for lessons, but go untucked when riding on my own. But like @mmeqcenter , I only wear close-fitting tops anyway.
As for forelocks, untucked, always.
Always tucked, always a belt. My dad trained me well… I have a really long torso, though, so keeping things tucked can be an issue. But I dont like the draft untucked.
Depends on the muffin factor.
I also don’t wear a belt. I mostly own riding tights which don’t even have belt loops.
Western rider here, always tucked, if you have ever hooked yourself on a horn you’ll know why, though have also hooked on a belt, and my bra before.
Forelocks always out
