Always tuck, no belt.
I was thinking the same thing about the draft! I am always tucked…well almost always. I have some work shirts that are princess cut and they are sometimes untucked. In the winter, if I’m wearing one of them, I have a shirt under that’s tucked to avoid the draft. in the summer it isn’t so bad but in generally I just feel off if my shirt is not tucked in. So yes, T-Shirts and jeans…tucked in t-shirt…
Belt always… I am likewise uncomfortable without a belt and tend to not own any pants that do not have belt loops. I have one pair of dress pants that do not but they fit tight enough that it’s ok. I had a pair of breeches that did not and it was sometimes OK but when they started getting older (10+ years) and the elastic started to go bad, it became more uncomfortable.
I shop clearance a lot for schooling breeches and the two things they MUST have are belt loops and pockets.
Horses forelock is untucked. She does not like tucked.
I’m sorry, but as someone who watches Ru Paul’s Drag Race. I’m just…hahahahahahahahah…sorry, tucked, untucked. OMG LOL
( Seriously answering the question, I pretty much leave it untucked unless I’m in a clinic or lesson. Just my personal preference/comfort zone.)
Forelock untucked always because its prettier that way.
Shirts are tucked in the winter to avoid drafts and anytime there will be pictures/ videos taken as I think it looks more professional.
Belted 95% of the time when shirt is tucked. NEVER wearing the belt without tucking the shirt in - its just weird for reasons I can’t explain.
Tuck? Almost always tucked.
Belt? As often as possible. I think I have 1 pair of breeches where the waist is so high that my belt is too big to buckle, otherwise, yes.
Vest to hide all the stuff? of course. Even if it’s warm, I try to wear a light vest. It just feels right.
Forelock? always untucked.
Nope. I’m short-waisted enough I never tuck in shirts unless I’m wearing a skirt, or wear dresses with obvious horizontal waist seams. (I only ever wore belts with breeches for shows becaus I had to. I don’t need them to keep them up.)
I don’t normally wear shirts that are tuckable…fitted dressier shirts (like from target) in warm weather and under armor, vests, sweaters in cold weather. But I always make sure my untucked sweaters and the like are well fitted and flattering.
I do however wear an under shirt every day and that is tucked in…belt no matter what, I have no rear.
PREACH! (you beat me to it).
I have to admit, I thought of something different when I read the title of this thread. I was influenced by having watched an episode of “Botched” that included a drag queen. Whole different meaning to “tucked” there!:lol:
Untuck. I don’t want it getting in his eyes, and I think it probably feels cooler to him to have the lift in the breeze.
Shirt – always tucked in with a western saddle for safety (and modesty! ). Otherwise – as the mood strikes me.
Forelock out unless I’m using an fly veil.
Shirt always tucked, always a belt if my breeches have belt loops.
I’m impressed by how fancy everyone is! Me, I quit showing years ago. No tucking for the forelock or for me. Now I usually ride in high-waisted athletic tights with pockets. Baleaf (available on Amazon) makes them in a variety of colors WITH POCKETS and they are ridiculously sturdy and cheaper than any breeches I’ve found (about $20/pair). They also make fleece-lined versions. In the winter, sometimes I wear multiple pairs for layering or wear them over long johns.
Of course, I totally rode in my pajamas the other day. My boarding barn is very casual, for which I’m extremely grateful. Hairy mare and I would probably be banished otherwise. Halter and lead rope and bareback riding also happens a lot in the winter.
Love this! You’re my hero.
Thank you! IIRC, I was also too lazy to put a bra on. Walking and jogging on a very smooth Arab who was started as a western pleasure horse pays off.
Untucked shirt with a belt. I’m built like a fat apple and my breeches will fall off if I don’t have a belt on. And believe me, no one wants to see that.
Untucked - short waisted, so it looks weird, and I don’t show, so no worries. Belt if I’m riding in jeans, no belt otherwise. Little TB forelock always untucked.
Always tucked in with a belt. I also don’t know how to ride without my hunter hair on.
Horse needs more than the 4 forelock hairs he has to even raise the question of what to do with it. I don’t even trim his bridle path his mane is so thin.
