I would like to get one of these but I am wondering, has anyone ever had it pinch their horse? I am trying to figure out what prevents it from pinching skin on the horse?
I used it once on a tank-like mare, and it rubbed the backs of her elbows. Iāve used this girth on several others without issues. Some LOVE it, some donāt care. If you buy directly from TSF, they offer a 30 day money back guarantee.
Thank you! What about the areas between the center/sternum piece and the others, has it ever pinched? I am just wondering how the horseās skin doesnāt get pinched in those gaps where the elastic isnāt covered by leather.
Never had an issue, but I have the fleece version and not the leather.
One of mine has the neoprene liner so no chance of pinching. The other has the leather liner which has very soft padding. Iāve never had pinching issues.
I have one with the neoprene liner. I have never had a pinching issue. No sores or rubs.

I have the neoprene and fleece option - no evidence of pinching at all.
My mare loves her stretch tech. I bought it specifically because she is built more in a V-shape than round. If she were a boat, I would call her a V-hull. It provides the contact I need with her sternum. The other design created gaps, I guess because it is designed for larger barreled horses.
Never had a problem with pinching or gaping. No rubs. She likes it.
Mine didnāt not pinch and my mare loves it. But I was seeing some evidence of rubbing farther up. I solved the problem by changing from the leather backing to the fleece. No more hair rub.

Neoprene removable liner here, no pinching at all, or rubs, or anything.
I have the leather version, and no pinches. Thereās no way for the gaps to close when the girth is on the horse, but if youāre worried about the edges digging in, theyāre quite soft, almost pillowy, as the stitching is farther āinlandā, like with a padded noseband.
So far Iāve been very pleased with mine.
Iāve sold quite a few of these and never had a complaint.
I had a single piece Comfort girth and my mare HATED IT. Am wondering if the jointed one is better? She is narrow at the wither with a forward girth groove and then has a HUGE round barrel. All her saddles slide forward. The fitter wanted me to get one for her, but after the last one I am looking to see if anyone with a similar built horse has had success with it.
I have the girth with the neoprene, leather, and fleece covers. No pinching in any of them.
I was just on their direct site and there is a banner saying that for orders this month there is a 90 day return window, including āused and abusedā, so might be worth giving it a try?
Iām going to suggest an alternate girth, I have been using a Tapestry girth for a couple of months now, and I really like it! No affiliation, just a happy customer. I had several people tell me that I shouldnāt have a girth that stretches for my dressage girth, that most horses didnāt like it, blah blah blah, LOL. But my guy definitely is more relaxed in it. I had him in a basic teddy fleece girth prior to that, my guy doesnāt have a very wide girth groove, and it was the quickest thing to fit him at first. He loves his other stuff with sheepskin, so I bought him a sheepskin girth with stretch, and nope, he loves his Tapestry girth!

I have one and split use between the neoprene and the leather, no pinching. Solid chonk of a pony.
I had the original girth in leather and this one, the newer one, with the stretch sections with the fleece cover. I use it (the newer one) on a wide welsh cob and he loves it. Without it, the saddle pulls forward onto his shoulders. My other, even wider cob, gets horrible rubs to the point of a little blood with it. For that extra wide boy I use a really inexpensive, older smart pak fleece girth and he is happy as a clam.
My horse was happy with the original TSF girth but he likes the StretchTec even better.
Update: Got it to try. Saddle slid forward and it rubbed returned it for a refund.
