He was 8 in 2008 so 20, I think. He looks pretty good for his age!

I misunderstood your question, Salo. Dec 2019 would be upload date. It doesn’t really indicate that the video is necessarily recent, although I’m sure it must be.
He’s 20 years old, has done more than most horses achieve in a life-time… looks servicably sound to me, schooling a tough movement for the average horse – and personally, I am not against keeping the older horses in work as I think it adds a little longevity to them when it comes to keeping their condition as they age. YMMV.

I have not kept up with this horse at all. Has he bred a lot of mares? Does he have a lot of successful offspring?
He produced at least 20 licensed stallions I believe. I’ve seen some really stunning offspring and some that were pretty darn average but it could have been that he improved on the mare. I really liked Glock’s Toto Jr a lot and am excited to see what happens with his top-selling colt, Total Recall. I believe he is coming 8 and is with Matthias Rath.
It is nice to see him happy and in work at 20. That is far more than many horses can say!

Agreed! I’ve ridden two offspring that were incredible, but I’ve also seen a bunch that were decidedly average. Many are still quite young, as his stud fee was very high for the first few years.

Total Hope OLD (sired by Totilas, dam Weihegold OLD (!), damsire Don Schufro) just won the Nuernburger Burg-Pokal. Beautiful.

This is a horse who was pushed very hard in his younger years. It’s rather surprising that he’s still sound now. Good for him! It’s glad to see people are are respecting his physiology, and I’m not talking Rath.
