Toughest phone case

I actually dropped my phone in the ring and my horse stepped on it. Thanks to my Otterbox, it was fine. Now I have a new phone and need a new case. Are there any other brands that really protect the phone? And cute would be nice too. I see that Mighty Skins has decals you can put on your ugly Otterbox.

My vote is for another Otterbox. It’s what’s on my phone.

Mine is also waterproof, can drop it in a through, fish it back out and it still works.

Is a “Fre, Lifeproof, water and dust proof, surpassing military standards”, whatever that is.

Otterbox…they are tough enough to be run over by a very large tractor and survive. Next phone gets one too

Lifeproof. If they have a model to fit your phone.

Did you see?

Lifeproof, hands down. I’ve had both otterboxes and lifeproofs and I am hell on my phones. Otterbox could never keep up.

Definitely Lifeproof!

I heard that Lifeproof is great for water protection and otterbox is better for drops and trauma

In my anecdotal evidence I dropped my Lifeproof roughly 8’ out of the cab of my semi truck onto pavement. Phone landed screen down and it was fine

you guys must have had great luck… i’ve had HORRIBLE luck with otterbox… i hadn’t even had my phone for more than a week the first time i dropped it w. an otter box and shattered the phone and broke the otterbox… and it wasn’t even on hard ground…

Otterbox. I’ve dropped my old IPhone and now Samsung Galaxy way too many times at the barn (& other places) over the years. Never had an issue with either phone being damaged.

Same. My horse likes to throw things, especially phones. Otterboxes can’t stand up to a good horse-y toss.

Well, my Otterbox has taken many beatings, and on pavement, too, and no cracks or damage to the phone. Haven’t tried Lifeproof but when I get a new phone I will get another Otterbox.

Me too! I got Otterbox thanks to COTH and it was absolutely no good for my life, running a barn with 10 horses. Dust got under the screen cover almost immediately. Went with Lifeproof ($$$) and haven’t looked back. Nothing gets between the case and the phone and its kept my phone safe for 2 years. Highly recommend. Though cute? It’s probably not.

I LOL those saying Otterbox can’t hold up.
Hubby dropped his phone, which he had placed in cup holder of tractor.
Drove over phone with tractor, NUMEROUS TIMES!
He was pushing up manure pile with tractor, and phone had been run over, back and forth, so many times that it was pushed down into the dirt approximately 4 inches! In order to find it, I had to dial it repeatedly! When he dug it up, it still worked 100%! Screen was fine!

I HATED to buy anything different for my phone, BUT…Otterbox didn’t keep dust out. And, working in barn, that is a biggie. I have Lifeproof now. Not as much dust, but trade off is screensaver scratched WAY easier, and sound quality sucks when talking.

I think the Lifeproof offers good protection BUT and it’s a huge minus in my opinion, I hate that you can’t plug most earbuds directly into the phone. The converters that they sell break all the time.

Ironically, the one time I tripped and fell in the mud this spring, my phone was in the Lifeproof case. BUT I hadn’t locked down the earbud opening and water still got in. After that, i went back to Otterbox.

I love my life proof. I was talking on the phone in the shower the other day while getting ready. I’ve had it in the hot tub or by the pool/beach and its been fine. Massive drops and no worries. Love mine.

I didn’t like the look of the Otterbox Defender (and that it gathered dust) so I got their Commuter. I’ve dropped it many times. Once I hurled it 10 feet into concrete - it was on top of a horse blanket I was shaking out - and there wasn’t a scratch. Our barn manager has run over her Defender with the tractor several times.

Re: your signature:

—"I am on my phone 90% of the time. Please ignore typos, misplaced lower case letters, and the random word butchered by autocowreck. "—

I had to disable autocorrect after one too many goofy changes I missed.
What a relief now with just spellcheck prompts left to handle.
When you have to proofread for, not only your own mistakes, but that of autocorrect, well, that got silly and defeats the purpose of having it on.

On Iphones, go to “settings”, “general” and “keyboard” to able/disable autocorrect.

After killing autocorrect, good riddance, I didn’t even scheduled a funeral.

Back to phone covers, a friend’s son was fishing and dropped his Lifeproofed phone in shallow water.
All the kids went diving for it and found it after some minutes, still working fine.
Lucky for him, he just got it and was not getting another one if he lost it.
