The first warmblood I remember was a trakehner stallion named Fleet owned by Wendy Grant in Massachusetts. Not sure if that was his full name or a stable name. He was black and beautiful to my young eyes!!
No, Sobek wasn’t very tall–I bet he was less than 16 hands. My friend in Connecticut might have seen him more than I did. I remember it was in winter when he came to New Jersey to Major Slaski’s place. There was a lot of snow that year and I remember paths dug through the deep snow to get into the barn. I think Poland was still Communist then so it might not have been so easy to get him out of the country?
Oh look here’s a 21 year old daughter of Sobek for lease:
http://www.equinehits.com/horses-for-sale/horse-147662 but I think that was 2006?
Also here’s another horse by Sobek:

On one of those links someone posted they said last known owner was unknown–maybe someone who cares can let them know it was UConn? I think…
Here’s another mare by Sobek who evented:

Something else I found:
Cornerstone (reg. Steiglitz) - 1984 gelding by Ith,
out of Sobiepanna by Sobek
rider/owner Elisabeth Moore, Boxford, MA
I was SO in love with Martini back in the day. Sigh. Way before I had the means to do anything about it.
Well, here’s Kelly on Meistersinger:

From Kelly’s FB page, Meistersinger in 1993 at Devon:
And I remembered correctly–here he is skating:

Falke
I think I own one of the last Falke daughters. There may be just a few by him from the next year but I’m not sure. Silken Dreams (Briana) was 19 in the fall. Sadly, I could never get her to carry to term but I’m still enjoying riding her. Here are some pictures of Bri and a couple of Falke:

I don’t know who took the photos of Falke or when so I don’t know how old he was in the photos. The muddy pictures of Bri were taken last month.
Tamara: Come on up to Kentucky. She’s a little stiff these days but still rideable. Oh, and the conference is in Lexington in November.
Lovely mare.
Here is a video of my mare supposedly by Falke.

Beeza has had several foals, luckily she seems to carry foals easily
Flake offspring
I know this is an old thread but I just came across it. I have a Falke granddaughter (Leacroft by Egmont) and a great grandson (Leacroft x Lotus T). I’ve had her 14 years and she will always be with me, now a broodmare. Check them out on my website www.Fernhillwarmbloods.com.

two days is not old even by COTH reckoning…
and I will get a Trak when the stars align properly…don’t worry about that;)
I also put this up partially as the stallions I mentioned were"hot" back in the day as far as advertising went… now…22 years later from the date of the stallion ads…very few are even remembered…or mentioned…
that to me is very interesting
Tamara
Thanks Rebecca…how the heck are you finding all these? I searched and found nothing at all about him or relatives. Very cool…I appreciate it.
I owned and stood MeistersingerPs for the last 8 years of his life. He did indeed compete through Intermediare I, and trained through GP.
He was a phenominal producer, though breed very few due to a long show career. He was a dear joy to ride - a serious gentleman - always willing to try.
I also bred and stood his son KreshendoPs. I trained him myself through GP, and competed -extensively- through Intermediare I with him also. He passed away when only 16 years old, and just beginning his first year competing at Grand Prix. I still miss him horribly!

thank you for posting can you talk about (if you wish) the differences in the Trakehner scene then late 1980’s as to now?
It seems there was a greater emphasis the 3 day riding?
Tamara
Suzette
I had the opportunity to visit Suzette once and meet both stallions. She also schooled Kreshendo while I was there. Beautiful stallions! Watching Kreshendo took my breath away. His loss was a big one for the Trakehner breed.
TK stallion Schampus
I have a Fidertanz 3 year old Oldenburg filly out of the TK mare Kindred Spirit II by the TK stallion Schampus. Anyone heard of him?
I think there has been a focus of late on putting the trakehener breed in the spotlight with respect to 3-D eventing. There are quite a few young stallions out there moving up through the levels which will be fun to watch and an attempt by the breed organzation with help of owners to actually track and cheer on trakeheners (which due to this effort --seems to show quite a few in the 3-d sport.)
It seems to be a good natural fit for many horses in the breed --and they seem to be ridden by jrs, ammies and professionals.
Schampus was a beautiful grey stallion by Karon out St. Pr. Suleiken though not as well know as his paternal brother Caprimond or his maternal brother Silvermoon (Kostolany)the sire of Blue Hors Matine but he did produce some very good daughters.
Thanks for the info Aquafarms. My filly Keepsake has three very good gaits and I plan to breed her in April to Rubignon and present her to the AHS. You can check her out on my website twinwillows.net under the mares page.
I’m pretty good at finding stuff out…
Was the stallion Karneval II popular back in the day? I have a 1/2 Trak by him that I’ve owned since he was 4, now 18 who has been a gem.

and the list gets longer every week!
I rode a half Trakehner (other half was Anglo Arab) by Mikado many years ago. At 14h 3" he was considerably shorter than either his sire or his dam, but that didn’t seem to constrain him.
His name was Mogul III but we called him Moo.
I’d love to know more about his sire.
