I really like Wonder Gadot. Now whether or not she can win is another story, but I’ll be rooting for her.
Love her!!! Haven’t looked at the pps yet and know she will not be a favorite.
She is PP #2.

I caught her last race at Woodbine and she is good. Can she beat Good Magic, we’ll have to see but I’d have my $ on her over Good Magic.

how does she typically run? Back of the pack and then closing or is she ok to run up front and still have gas in the tank?
If she likes to suck back, I worry about her PP and getting stuck in traffic at the top of the stretch. She looks rank this week.

Meldelssohn… where do you think he fits into the Travers? Love his Sire but other than the UAE Derby, unimpressive IMO.
Wonder Godot… I don’t recall her running style and have only caught her race once and don’t remember. The BH articles talks about her durability in racing but not her style…
Watching a few of her races, seems like she’s pretty handy. She’s gone to the lead when no one else is there & has sat back off the leaders, just as comfortably.
The thing I noticed about her is she seems to get better the longer the distance, so the Travers plays right into her wheel house.
Mendelssohn, depends how long he’s been on US soil. They shipped him in days before the KY derby which didn’t pan out at all. Hope he’s been here for a few weeks at least.

Also love Wonder Gadot, but hoping Mendelssohn finally redeems himself and finishes well.
I said it before the Derby and still rooting for the Coach to get one more big one, so I’ll be cheering for Bravazo.
Otherwise I like Good Magic, and Gronkowski.
Why is it now the RunHappy Travers? Or has it always been that and I’m just now noticing?
My, Catholic Boy is a gorgeous fellow. My money was on him; I wish it had been a real bet.

Denali - Mattress Mac Mcingvale sponsored The Travers this year - thus it became the Runhappy Travers, after his champion sprinter.
That was an interesting race. I had an exacta box with Good Magic, Mendelssohn, and Wonder Gadot. Oh, well. At least all appeared to come home in good shape.

Another consistent run from Bravazo.
After reading more closely BH’s article today, saw that Catholic Boy is a ridgling. Would that keep you from breeding to him if you liked everything else about him? (Assuming, of course, that the shed is his ultimate destination). I know there are other ridgling stallions so wondered how big a deal it really was. Does it appear to effect fertility or is that stallion dependent?
It certainly didn’t hinder AP Indy, who has left a mark on the breed.

It wasn’t always this way - not sure how long of a practice it’s been - although there seem to have been some bourbons and other beverages supporting races in the past. So the new advertising - 10-15 years?
But at least Mattress Mack seems to be a person really interested in the welfare of the sport - even if he does have a few different ideas. I’d rather have Runhappy’s name out there vs Yum Brands. And for all he did for Houston, think he’s ok.

Honestly I knew about the branding from here. I guess I finally noticed it last evening on my TV the first time. Selective hearing/reading when it comes to the broadcast I guess. You are right about RunHappy. I enjoyed watching him race. I just get grumpy with sponser name add ons.
