About as close as you can get to a dead heat without it actually being a dead heat finish.

It was heartbreaking! Love Serengeti Empress and she came right back and wouldn’t quit.
I’m enjoying seeing the Derby parties in people’s homes, vs the wacko usual celebrity nonsense.

I agree! That mare tried her heart out and just got caught on the “wrong” side of a head-bob finish. It was one heck of a race, though.
It was a great race. Serengeti Empress sure has heart. Not a good day for the favorites…
I was hoping for Serengeti Empress but Bell’s the One deserved that win (well, dead heat would have been nice).
Like how the jocks after they crossed the wire were asking each other what thought.
I’ve been floating between NBC and TVG. Some of the on-air personalities on NBC I just personally don’t care for (one I FF through when he’s covering the NASCAR races too :o ).
As PT for the Derby gets closer, most of the other tracks won’t run races until the Derby is finished so probably spending a bit more time on NBC.
Thousand Words just went up and over in the paddock. Vet will check him. Scratched.
TVG said Thousand Words (not Authentic) is a late scratch after going up and over in paddock.
Sounds like Baffert went to the ground but is up.

Scary moment with Thousand Words. I hate, hate, hate seeing them go up and over like that, but the grooms (and BB, who also hit the ground) did a good job of keeping him from going straight over, I thought.

It was Thousand Words not Authentic. I mixed up the Baffert horses.
It was something in the crowd. I didn’t see what.

Feel bad for the connections of Thousand Words, to get so damn close & not make it.
Hope TW’s is ok. Lots of blood in/around his muzzle (may have bit his tongue???)
Baffert didn’t get knocked down. It was one of the other people standing next to TWs when he went up.
He’s also an appy!!! No chewing allowed!!
