Triple Crown races 2025

Fantastic race! Witty looked like Sandman with the come from last run.

Have you heard anything about your horse Neat?

Witty is beautiful. beautiful mover, so balanced and so much strength and power on his frame. Really nice horse. Too bad he’s a gelding :frowning:

Journalism the day after the Preakness. What a good boy.

His body (not his coloration obviously) reminds me of Curlin.

As Crudo reminds me of Justify except for the color. And both these colts were very similar strutting peacocks looking for more with those eyes sparkling and ears up like rockets after, no heavily blowing, exhausted from a supreme effort there.

A very good boy! So handsome and at this time calm and poised. He stood so perfectly for the pictures at the end of the video.

Anyone know what is in his ears? It looks whitish and splotchy.

Look like ear plaques.

That’s what I thought. When my horse had them I could barely touch his ears to get the medicine on them. It was extremely painful.

For photo ops Journalism needs a fake tail. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I wonder if it’s wispy by nature.

Noooo!!! I get it …it is wispy…but he is a performance horse, and I hate normalizing that for purely performance horses, just as much as I hate over-fillerizing/botoxing of women. Let him show his stuff on the track. And yes, I get it for hunters and other subjectively judged disciplines.

Yes, wispy tail. TBs don’t usually have the great tails of WBs, but his almost looks like it had an accident. Sometimes the TB tails are wispy because the yearlings are turned out together and they chew on each other’s tails.

But he showed that tail to the rest of the field in the Preakness, and that is all that counts.

I have one that came from the track with a lovely tail. He’s 30 now, so not so lovely.

I’ve had four tb’s and they’ve all had thick, glorious tails. No forelocks though

My OTTB has an average tail, but amazing forelock and long mane. Most people do a double take when I tell them he is full thoroughbred. (Lol in case it’s not obvious that is a carrot in his mouth)

Dang! I’ve never seen a tb with a forelock like that. Mighty fine

Check out Quality Road’s forelock. Gorgeous.

I’m coming in late, having only just had time to watch the race. Shortly after watching it this showed up on my FB feed:

From the aerial view it looks so dramatic!

Crudo is entered for the Belmont Stakes.
Journalism is also officially in after his breeze.

PP draw is today. Likely the last time in our lifetimes that the Belmont will be run at Saratoga.

So far, looks like rain for Saturday.
