Trumbull mountain. Bad experience update, got a check

That is so surprising to me because in the past I have had great experiences. I would PM jaybird!

Iā€™m not saying this is the case at all, but Iā€™ve had several issues with the post office and losing checks in the mail (and this from people that I trust to have sent the check when they said they did). i also work at a boutique that designs wedding invitations, so we hear all the time how the post office lost quite a few invitations and they were never delivered. Again, not saying this is the case, but I donā€™t trust anything sent by usps to get to its destinationā€¦

For the check, going to the same place, from the same place, to be reliably lost multiple times has odds approaching zero.

I tried to file a complaint with the BBBā€¦ They said they canā€™t do anything about it. The most I could do is put a bad review on the BBB websiteā€¦[/QUOTE]

BBB ratings are something you buy so not at all surprising.

I was sorry to see the business change hands and sorry to lose Edie and by extension, Kitt.

I bought from them over the years and never had a problem. They were always helpful and kept me informed of when my order was delayed and when it would ship.

From the above posts, I would now not consign with them.

Sorry to read this, hopefully, Jay can fill us in on what has changed at TM

Iā€™m curious to see how this pans out. I was about to send them a very nice saddle for consignment but I may have to look at other shops now.

Jay used to post a lot, havenā€™t seen any posts in a while, or have I just missed them? She would always give advice on saddle fitting threads.

Jay seems to be on the dressage saddle fitting threads more than anywhere. ā€¦

She was posting yesterday, so sheā€™s definitely not gone.

I just got off the phone with Trumbull. I was told the check number and that it was written on the 22 and mailed on either the 22 or 23. Iā€™m not sure how long it takes for mail to get from Vermont to Georgia but hopefully I was told the truth and the check will be here today.

The check was not in todayā€™s mail. According to what I googled, it can take anywhere from 2-7 days for standard mail to get to my state from Vermont.

Should have gotten it by now.

How did they mail it? I assume first class postage (standard letter) not some ultra slow way. (Is there even a slow way to mail an envelope?) Did they include tracking or delivery confirmation? It seems like if they are having problems with people getting their checks that would be the smart way to mail them.

It would be nice if Trumbull Mountain would post on this thread to clarify what is going on. It probably would restore the faith of quite a few people.

This is so disappointing! I had a great experience purchasing from them. (And while I was at Rolex I actually remembered I needed to post a positive review on their Facebook page, but maybe Iā€™ll wait.) Iā€™m thinking of upgrading my saddle in the next couple years and purchasing & consigning through them.

Iā€™m eager to hear some sort of response on this.

They mailed mine just regular mailā€¦ It did take about a week from when they sent it, to when I got itā€¦ I am in MA.

I got my check today. Yay!!

So glad to hear that.

It still seems weird that Trumbull Mountain did not comment on this thread since they have been active on the forum while this thread has been active.

Well, the owner of TM owes a response to her client only, not to curious onlookers. A super classy public apology might be the end of it here, but it might also open the thread up to more questions, negative comments, other disgruntled customers chiming in, etc. Itā€™s a well-known COTH sport to pile on.
Being realistic, there are not many good, reassuring reasons that a business can offer when it is slow to pay its bills ā€“ itā€™s either serious cash flow issues (which would get everyone whoā€™s currently got a saddle there now up in arms) or inattention to the customer, which hurts the whole business.

So, itā€™s not a dumb strategy to just apologize to the client, get them paid, let the debate die down and focus on actually doing business.

Curious what the envelope or flat mailer showed for a post dateā€¦

FWIW, I had the exact same thing happen with ISellTack. I was the one who had to stay on top of when it went out and when it sold, I was never contacted. When I emailed and was told it had actually sold (yay!?), they verified my address and said the check was going out. After about three weeks, still no check, I called and left a voicemail, texted, and emailed. No response. Left another voicemail a week later that was very sternly worded, got a text back that the check should have gone out. She said she would send it with a tracking number. No tracking number but the check did finally show up. Iā€™m glad it sold, I wonā€™t leave a bad review, but I was very surprised since I never read anything bad about themā€¦

Just as troubling was the issue with the saddle being out on trial for months? Odd and definantly not a company Iā€™d do business with. Not the same old tack shop of years ago.
