The envelope was postmarked April 30.
Eight days after they told you they had sent it? Hmmmm.
Hmmm indeed

But they gave you a check number and said it was written on the 22nd or 23rd?
I worked for a company that used to BS creditors like that. It was a cash flow problem on their part (and even larger problems beneath that). Their philosophy was to say what you need to today in order to get off the phone with the creditor. If/when you finally do pay them, theyâll just drop it⊠including all previous lies you told.
That really chaps my burned goat.

What date was on the check itself?
The check was dated April, 22.

Which was my thought when they gave her the run around about her saddle, which had disappeared from their web site. When OP asks about it, they claim it had been out on trial - for months??? When OP gets persistent finally they say it sold. Then the run around with paying her started.

I could write a check today and dateit April 14, 1912. The bank wouldnât cash it, of course, but it wouldnât be a problem to physically write a different date on the check.
Thatâs true, but if correct, it still took them over a week to mail the check after writing it.
Not impressive.

I edited your post⊠As I do not think the tack store was being honest.
Because most likely they did not write it until they sent it, they simply put the older date on it.

I fixed your postâŠ

No fixing needed. I said, if correct. Read for comprehension.

I used the wrong word, I should not have said fixed. I did not mean you were incorrect. I am more trying to say that they were not being honest. I will change my post to say I edited your post.
Was not trying to offend you. Sorry if I did.

Curious what the envelope or flat mailer showed for a post dateâŠ
FWIW, I had the exact same thing happen with ISellTack. I was the one who had to stay on top of when it went out and when it sold, I was never contacted. When I emailed and was told it had actually sold (yay!?), they verified my address and said the check was going out. After about three weeks, still no check, I called and left a voicemail, texted, and emailed. No response. Left another voicemail a week later that was very sternly worded, got a text back that the check should have gone out. She said she would send it with a tracking number. No tracking number but the check did finally show up. Iâm glad it sold, I wonât leave a bad review, but I was very surprised since I never read anything bad about themâŠ
I had the same experience.
OP, did your check clear? Because a dear friend of mine has been wrestling with TM for MONTHS to receive a check for her saddle. Literally, months. Multiple phone calls, multiple promises that a check has been mailed. Check finally arrives⊠and bounces. Sheâs about to go fuego.
Yaâll are making me nervous. A saddle I had on consignment with TM finally sold in September (a saddle I originally purchased from them and had a super positive experience doing so) - I was contacted because an offer was made and they wanted me to accept or deny - I accepted the offer. I confirmed via email that it did sell - and the picture of the saddle was taken down.
The policy on the website says:
Please note that we pay our consignors by the end the month after the month in which the saddle is confirmed as sold and paid for.
Which means to me that if my saddle sold in September, a check would be mailed by the end of October, right? I havenât gotten a check, and Iâve already emailed them twice about it to confirm that they did indeed sent one. I do live across the country so I was accounting for the week that it can take for mail to find its way here - which is why I just wanted to know that they did put it in the mail. I guess now I have to start calling to even get a response.
Sigh.

Same here. Thus the reason I am not quiet and will not go away when I hear any of those excuses.

The original TM owner passed away a few years ago. I grew up about 30 minutes from the shop. Its common local knowledge that the service has been slipping since then.
The original owner was an absolute gem who would have had a stroke if she knew about this. My familyâs place is in the neighborhood of the original TM, and very much agree that the rep is that service is slipping. Thanks to this, I will definitely not be consigning any tack with them. Sorry about the experience but thanks so much for taking the time to post.
Currently having an issue of non/payment/refusal to refund in a timely manner. Folks, take your business elsewhere!
You apparently spelled the name wrong. When I Googled âTrumballâ ,mountain, nothing came up, but there s a TrumbUll Mountain. Spelling ,matters. http://www.trumbullmtn.com/
Yes, please take your business elsewhere. Clearly TM doesnât want it enough to be honest.
