Are any of my fellow Canadians having issues trying to use the new website and pay and activate for 2017? I use an iPad and cannot do anything, just get a blank screen. And I cannot get a response from them to see if it’s an “apple” issue as my friend had no issues on a laptop that uses Microsoft!

Can’t even think of spending the money on EC yet! Going to wait until this cold snap ends to make sure my horse pulls through it before I pay anything.

No I didn’t get that page! It took me straight to the page showing my current number and horses to activate but that’s as far as I can get. I click "Renew sport license " and it goes to nothing… same if I hit "activate " on the horse!
I tried a few times over the holidays as I had already renewed by OEF membership mid December but was unsuccessful and was receiving a notice that my OEF membership could not be confirmed when I tried through the EC site. I gave it another week and had no issues at all on Tuesday when I tried again. I guess there was a glitch in the system somewhere between the OEF computer system and the EC one. It should be working fine now…
OF course, I can’t contact EC to find out if it’s safe because I can’t get to the contact page without passing through this ‘nginx’ one… :mad:

I couldn’t get there through their old site (equinecanada.ca which is what’s giving you that nginx thing)…you have to go to www.equestrian.ca
And just to add yet more confusion…it appears that the new name of our Canadian Equestrian Federation is now Equestrian Canada, not Equine Canada and not the Canadian Equestrian Federation. Good grief…quit changing the name already. And all the logos and letterhead and everything else which costs all the membership more money. It was quite fine as the Canadian Equestrian Federation to begin with I thought.

I googled equestriancanada because my new computer didn’t have it as part of my favourites, and the old site came up, even though it said equestrian.ca in the bar…

Has anyone been able to upload a photo for their horse recording? I have a currently recorded horse, and can get to the link that needs to be clicked to upload a photo, but nothing happens after I click it. Tips, tricks or just commiseration?
Commiseration, I guess, Small Change. My recorded horse was PTS 6-1/2 years ago, and I can’t find a way to let them know, other than to physically mail them the passport or email them, which I have done. I’d just like to be able to click a button and have the option.
Yep I noticed that when I went back and read a bit more about the name change. I was unaware of it then…but it does still seem like a total waste of membership money for no real purpose. Better places for that money to be spent for sure.
Couldn’t they have warned me - I have JUST got the passport done for my horse
but apparently under the new recording method on line, it is now obsolete without being used.
When they changed the name they explained that they kept the same initials - EC! How helpful.

I was confused and frustrated with the website and re-naming and it tried to give me a brand new license number (!!) so I just called and the lovely girl patiently walked me right through it all on the phone.
I have to guess they are getting a lot of calls - and it is true - they are very good and very patient in walking us through…but they are not EC and it is EC that I have my complaints with.

fanfayre - I think your wish may have been granted! I was able to mark one of my horses as “active, not showing” (or something to that effect), as he’s passported but not going anywhere that he’ll need it, at least this year. When I picked that option, I think “deceased” was in the list as well.
Hmm, Small Change, maybe I have to actively renew. I tried to change to deceased, and all I’ve been able to do is either change owner or upload a photo/change measurement; but then, I haven’t actually paid this year’s fees, and I did get an alert I had to be for a sport license.
Still can’t get the page to work on my ipad… it’s like the page “doesn’t fit” on the screen ! So frustrated
