What you just wrote would make it really different in my opinion.

I think it’s mostly gracious of the moderators to let people who admittedly don’t come here, at least not often, have seemingly OT threads here while their’ BB of choice is down. I would like to think that if this BB was down, the courtesy would be returned without posters complaining about server issues that are really non of their concern.

Hehehehe! Yes indeed my truck is cute! I love my truck! It’s my mobile tack room, feed room, hay store, pony tower, get to the equines in a blizzard mobile… and I can just about wedge it into a normal UK size parking space without unduly worrying any one on either side. Seriously though, it is the largest pick-up over here… and CUTE!

And it is not for making a mean Philly cheese steak either, much as that would also be a useful skill that could possible improve my dating chances!

We have great emoticons… you just have to enable them in your control panel. Go to user cp and its twords the bottom, I forget all it say but you want the box that say WYSIWYG Check that and you are good to go! :yes: :winkgrin: :eek:

ok, without Jean S.'s recipe, here’s what I remember about Saddlebred Martinis. It’s by memory so it may be off.And it is about horse stufff… see? SADDLEBRED is in the name.

SADDLEBRED MARTINIS generously served by Jean S. of Taunton, MA and happily consumed at the 2nd UDBB-Northeast (see Clanter, I said Northeast, not NE).

1 part Chambord
2 parts raspberry vodka
1 part Cointreau
1/2 part raspberry syrup, raspberry juice or cran-raspberry juice
1/2 part lime juice

put into a martini shaker with crushed ice. Shake up and pour into martini glasses. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

if thats true then why does the owner show predujudice as to who can be a member me hears its because he doesnt like folks to disagree with his point of view, here we have many points of view and many dissagrements, but everyone is allowed to post, no restrictions, all are welcome. that seems more hometown to me. :yes:

I don’t think this is about “who is better”. Or it shouldn’t be. I have seen MANY points of view represented on UDBB. Some fairly asinine. Some pretty great. I love that little community of horsie folk. That doesn’t mean this community is any less.

I refer anyone who is interested in the facts to check out the archives on page 5, ANYONE WANT TO WATCH ANKY’S WORLD CUP KUR RIDE ONLINE thread and page 6 in the archives HORSES FOR LIFE-ROLLKUR ISSUE thread. You didn’t want to discuss anything. Your posts were negative and falsely acussing Anky/rollkur riders of everything under the sun including some vets you knew about that supposedly say rollkur damages a horse. When I put up some information I got from Canyonoak about some positive aspects about rollkur from professionals such as Hillary Clayton, I haven’t seen you post, once, since except for now. You are falsely accusing Chronobb’ers in the same way you falsely accuse Anky of every horrible way to ride a horse known to mankind.

why do i prefer UDBB? becuase this place can be so vicious and so full of hate that it can be overwhelming. (is that liberal?)

i am continually shocked at how some folks act here… and i wonder: would they act the same face to face? (i doubt it!)

on the UDBB for the most part, while we may not all agree - at least we can be cival while dissagreeing.

what i find most amazing is that when folks from UBDD come over here and post (especially if they dont agree with the party line here) they are told to get lost - that they aren’t wanted. (at that i have to laugh becuase isnt that what they accuse the UDBB of doing?)

and the bottom line is that on UDBB you can ask as many questions as you want and there will always be discussion and there will always be learning… i just dont see that happening so much over here.

i guess i just see it as a different dynamic… maybe COTH is like a Jr High school girls clique and UDBB is mosre like a small neighborhood.

Exactly. UDBB is a community. Scruffy, chancellor, Thursday, clanter, fretless, JMC, Deedee, Kurqueen, Adele, Rowdy, jester, mld and some numbers, Peter Guy, Jenn, draftmom, and a gazillion others. You can divide us up into little disagreeable groups-- democrats, republicans, vegetarians, carnivores, but we STILL chat and talk and laugh and are a part of each other’s lives. I feel welcome there and liked (at least by some!) and I have been comforted and encouraged and have met many of the members. I know that I can travel anywhere and find a friend from the board. Don’t knock it because you disagree with the admin or if you disagree with a couple posters-- there are many of us. Surely someone there will agree with you and encourage you and comfort YOU in times of trouble.

I agree with Karoline that while I like both boards, it just so happens that I have more personal friends (hey gang!) on UDBB, so that’s where I tend to hang out more. However, it is no reflection of COTH - the only reason I’m not on both boards is all this real life stuff that I’ve got to get done before I can actually surf the net.

I think it can be summed up as follows - I am following COTH for fun, particularly when I’m alerted to some really interesting thread (corns anyone? or maybe thyroid? ). I’m checking into UDBB to see what’s going on with my friends. It may, in part, be because it is a smaller community as well - I don’t know. I’m sure if I suddenly switched and started following COTH, I’d be just as happy - and if anyone ever figures out how I could have 28 hours a day, I may just get addicted to both boards.
