Long Leaf, 1-800, Holly Jeanne and the Monster Truck are all headed to Franklin TN rendesvous tomorrow and can pick those up along the way including the OP and her 18 HanD Sabino GypSy VannER ColT, which is in serious need of Parade exposure to help with training issues. Her granny and BNT Joe P (along with ‘The Sandman’) are on board as well. Joe P has agreed to conduct a clinic at the parade for anyone willing to fork over $500 (so generous of him”"what a seriously nice guy who has always been wonderful to me).
Lyrical is pulling her 4-horse over the curves of the Virginia turnpike with a minivan as we speak. I strongly urge Californians and Colorado folks to form their own ConVoY to HeLL as we cannot go that far west and make the July 4th parade and barbecue in H’atlanta. Other special events: Pocket Trainer will have a wine tasting and demonstration booth and someone else (I forget who?) has a barbed wire bit booth with the latest designs. Inverness will have her padded briefs for adult riders deeply discounted for COTH members only. We’re also going to sign DMK’s cast to commemorate the event and then auction it off for the rescue after it comes off/when she crosses the bridge into the firey waters (whichever comes first).
We’re strapping Oreo to the top of the double decker cattle truck with long bungees as we do not want him to run off any weight (or eat any more rescues) before the BBQ. Spot, the Invisible Dalmation (this is horse related, I promise) will be running alongside the cattle truck.
Anyone wanting to bring their horses for parade training PT me with a map to your barn and we’ll link you up with volunteers (we still need more folks) with trailor-worthy vehicles. If you have any dead gophers, coons, or skunks you want to bring to throw on the grill please pack them in a cooler so as not to overripen. Snowbird, sorry but we cannot get all the way up to Schoolytop to pick you up however, maybe you can hitch a ride with someone from Jersey to Rockytop and we can load you in the top of the double decker (below Oreo level) along with the USAE board members who are coming? That way you can have some one-on-one face-to-face time with them…
Note on Liability issues at parade: Don’t worry about trampling any children or Jack Russells that cross your path as I have checked and our legal cancer says the fireworks manufacturers would likely be the liable party. I think you can even shoot them if you want as it won’t be your fault morally or ethically.
Also GOOD NeWs!!! We now accept PayPal so please keep those donations coming. This is even more crucial as the over-loaded Convoy needs to stop every 20 miles to fill up on gas and beer as well as make stops at car washes to hose down the horses and people in the cattle truck (I think the heat index is something like 200 for the weekend and as we approach H’atlanta/gates of HeLL parade it will only increase).
As I am not familiar with the Alpharetta/H’atlanta area can someone send me a list and maps to good restaurants with enough parking for the cattle truck and ConVoY, hours of operation and menus? Thanks again, much appreciated.
