No worries. I just remember how awful that case was.
But your key point about that screwed up jury verdict was spot on. For sure.
Sorry about your Covid. Hang in there.

Everyone has an opinion is not the same thing as respecting that opinion.
The Holocaust being real is not an option, itâs a fact.
Who won the election is a fact, not an opinion. Denying those things isnât an opinion, itâs a delusion.
Opinion: horses are great.
Delusion: horses donât exist.
So good try on the explanation but still no.
I agree 100% with your post. And Iâd like to add that as horrible as being jailed awaiting trial, and held at a health facility that was not helping, MB had the fortitude to make the best of those terrible situations.
In jail he helped other prisoners and drew wonderful pix and in the two institutes we heard that he continued to work toward release even though he was not given proper treatment.
Any of those situations could bring a person down, but he stayed focused on the good.
No wonder he went it to the Olympics, created a successful business, and made great friends. Heâs got the âright stuffâ.
One of the side effects of long-term Suboxone use is dental disease and tooth loss.
I Couldnât agree more. Now juxtapose that with the life Lauren Kanarek has been living of continued drug use and continued delusional SM posting on multiple platforms with multiple accounts. She has âunlimited resourcesâ but rather than focus on riding and proper care of her horses, she is still continuing on a sad, bitter and destructive path.
May she stay in her little corner of FL and fade into obscurity. She truly is her own worst enemy.
Well, thereâs always that lawsuit against CBS and 48 Hours. Maybe thatâll work out for them.
Fingers crossed!

Yeah, I know but I wanted to highlight other causes, for other readers who may be struggling with dental issues NOT caused by illicit drug use. Sometimes people forget that genetics & a crummy hand play a role (malnutrition in utero and poverty as a child). Clearly poverty wasnât the cause of Laurenâs poor dental outcome.
No one shot Nichole. She was stabbed.
An acquittal goes not mean the jury as finder of fact âdecided thatâ the act was not committed. It means that the jury decided that there was not enough evidence to establish âbeyond a reasonable doubtâ that the act was committed.
If the police had arrived at the scene with Nichole wounded but alive, and OJ, with a bloody knife under his body and restrained by Ron Goldman, saying âThis is the assailantâ, do you think the jury would have had any doubt? OJ denied he was even at the scene.
What do you mean by ânettedâ a larger settlement? MB was suing for his legal costs so any money from the insurance settlement will go to his lawyers.
Wow! That is great for MB. What a huge week for him. One thing is for sure, his attorneys are excellent. They are the real tap dancing blue chip super crew.
Heâs been having to pay his lawyers all along the way. He gets to keep it, the lawyers have already been paid.
Itâs a sunny day in New Jersey. Michael Barisone gets to go out and enjoy it, maybe a fancy dinner too. Hurray!
Nor is he tethered to Suboxone as part of his life.
I would imagine heâs already burned through a lot of his savings on legal fees. I doubt criminal defense attorneys and other experts work on contingency.
I would imagine that when Hawthorne Hill was finally sold, and proceeds distributed between the various partners involved in SGF, MB took his share and used it to pay for attorneys fees.
Iâll be clear, this is just speculation on my part, but thatâs my guess.
Soooo⊠I would imagine that some of the settlement will go to paying off any remaining legal debts, but the rest will go towards rebuilding his savings.
I do believe he already owned his Florida property, free and clear. I thought ST testified to that effect.
If MB can actually get through this whole ordeal, keep the Florida property, pay off all his legal debts, get released from the Krol commitments, get the SafeSport sanction lifted, and actually manage to have rebuilt some of his personal savings?
That will be a very solid outcome, financially speaking. With all the work he has been doing in therapy, it seems he will be well positioned to resume his professional career in a positive and healthy way, having developed robust coping skills. That would be tremendous.
Hopefully he has many years of work left, and can truly move beyond this sad strange chapter, and resume working with horses and riders.
I guess there is also the possibility that Michaelâs attorneys were so appalled at the travesty of justice that they have committed to work pro bono on his behalf, at least in part.
ETA: this post created for the purpose of using sarcasm to express the travesty of the legal system and the hard work of Barisoneâs attorneys to right those wrongs, not to imply anything about how the lawyerâs were being funding
That was my point. Everyone has an opinion, but not all opinions deserve respect. Some opinions, like denial of the Holocaust and claiming the election was stolen, do not deserve respect and are very dangerous.
I think that denying that MB shot LK is a delusion. It is not nearly as dangerous a delusion as denying the Holocaust or claiming the election was stolen, but I consider it a delusion.
If Eggbutt and other posters here continue to endorse that delusion, it doesnât really matter.
In my humble opinion, it is not conducive to MBs mental health to hold on to that delusion. In my humble opinion, MBs delusional disorder being in remission and MB being found eligible for release are part and parcel of his âbeing very sorry for what he didâ and being âgrateful LK survivedâ as opposed to insisting on relitigating the trial. That is the change in the testimony of the Krol hearing between non release and release.
I think youâre going to go nuts trying to insist on two contradictory things â that MB can be snd is released because he has escaped his delusion that he shot her in self defense, or maybe did not shoot her at all, and at the same time hold on to those delusions.
Fortunately, it doesnât matter if you (g) cling to your delusions, only whether MB does.
The wind is blowing today and what is that I smell?
Could it be âŠ
Obsession
You know for a fact that the lawyers have been paid?
Interesting.
If Eggbutt and other posters here continue to endorse that delusion, it doesnât really matter.
Then why do you keep posting about it?

You know, currently horseless, Iâve stayed out of all of your needless rehashing of the verdict the last few days while the rest of us are just trying to be happy for some good news, but this latest I just canât ignore.
Michael Barisoneâs diagnosed condition of delusional disorder, per the highly regarded experts that testified on his behalf and in three separate Krol hearings, had NOTHING to do with whether or not he shot Lauren Kanarek and EVERYTHING to do with his (delusional) fear that she was going to kill him.
You can keep trying to spin that your way, and keep pretending that logical people are delusional because there is no actual evidence, other than the testimony of two admitted drug addicts, that he shot her. And one of those drug addicts admitted under oath that she lies, but, thatâs irrelevant.
You are misstating the testimony of many mental health experts to suit your purpose and itâs tired and old.
Now, can we please just move on and celebrate the good things that have happened in this thread?
