That is what they consider running?!?!
The way I gasped.
This poor little creature.

They also repaired an umbilical hernia on Seven? What has this poor little horse had go right in his world?
Just sitting here shaking my head!
I dunno. I was kinda impressed that he can move that well. It sure wasn’t pretty, but it wasn’t as grotesque as I feared. The little angry kick was cute too.
The videos won’t work for me.
Me neither, click gets me to Playstore to download the app. NTYVM
But, the vid of Seven “meeting another horse” in the aisle popped up on my FB feed.
I was thinking he looked pretty good… Then saw that RF
But as he’s known no other Life, & doesn’t appear miserable, I have to say as much as I’d prefer seeing him in a field, if KVS & UTN want to keep the moneytrain going, it’s less abuse, more benign neglect.
FB links.
I think he’s looking better.

The right front leg remains at an angle beginning at the knee. How long before that breaks down? How long before that shoulder breaks down?
Hard to imagine long term how his hips and spine will endure with those straight back legs.
As someone said up thread, just because we can doesn’t mean we should. This is a slow train wreck….
This entire story bothers me for many reasons, but I think the worst aspect is the short sightedness. That is on many levels.
Social media is a monster that you can’t control once it’s released. People are short sighted when they want to do something that gets them clicks. They open that door of public opinion and realize they can profit from the saps. Once that money train starts rolling, it’s hard to stop.
I don’t care if they already have money. That’s inconsequential. In fact, it can make them more likely to find an angle. Rich people stay rich by giving in to their greediest nature to stay rich. That’s why they want those tax breaks. Building wealth is nothing more than finding ways to make even more money.
So, the money starts rolling in and now they have a reason to make decisions based on monetary needs, rather than what’s best for the animal. It’s even more important if you have a public persona as a “singer/artist” etc… Producing t shirts, for example, which I believe this person has done for all her animals, including Seven. Of course putting the horse down would mean less t shirt sales.
Secondly, the short sightedness is that this person now has a reputation. We didn’t know who she was until now. This will always follow her. She has alienated a great many good, knowledgeable horse people to make a quick buck. That will have repercussions. Does she care? She has her singing career. Actually, it could hurt her in the future. Her “brand” is targeting people without a lot of horse knowledge, but the grumblings of professionals can be heard (I know most of us are amateurs, but there are influential people here as well).
In the midst of all this is a foal that has a limited lifespan and may be headed toward a catastrophic breakdown and terrible suffering with one wrong moment of baby horse imprudence. Those of us with decades of experience know what stall rest and hand walking is for when a horse is recovering from injury. We know a wrong move in a paddock could mean setbacks. We also know horses often sabotage themselves because it’s in their nature to run from danger. It’s in their nature to practice escaping danger by running and jumping around. In this case, there is nothing but permanent handicap and restricted movement ahead for this animal.
As a former veterinary worker, along with the horrible life for this horse is the possible compromise of the moral and ethical standards of the workers.
I will bet some are wondering if they need to leave their job to keep their spirit intact
He’s just one bad step or an awkward stumble away from catastrophe.
KVS has created this narrative, a story about beating the odds and being on Team Life with never a mention of how many tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) this venture has already cost. It’s all just magical rainbows of hope orchestrated for her social media fans.
Regarding the monetizing of Seven, I saw this and threw up a little bit. It’s a screenshot of a reel Katie made.
And that is why I will not click the links to her posts about this anymore. It is just a money grab for her at this point.
Oh wow. That’s disgusting.
KVS inserts SM foot into mouth
Oopsy
Yeah, that statement was my final straw.
Gonna block her on FB.
About 8 weeks ago one of my daughters text me a reel of Seven and said “Mom, this is so wrong!” and that was my intro into Seven’s case.
I’ve concluded were it not for social media Seven would have been humanely euthanazied within 24/48 hours of birth. Using Seven to make money makes the owner a villain.
You said it: she’s a villain.
My God, it’s so clear now that Seven is a money maker for her. If and when he does go home, and the novelty of that wears off, will he fade into obscurity? If that means he’s no longer a conduit for cash and notoriety, will he finally be euthanized?
(Yes, I am that cynical).
You have a smart daughter. She understands the nuances in the ethics here. Well done.
