Thank you. She was raised on our small place where the life cycle of domestic and wild animals, from births to deaths, from disease to catastrophic injuries, played out.
She’ll probably put him in a situation where he tries to do more than he’s physically capable of doing and has a catastrophic injury that requires euthanasia.
(Apparently I’m that cynical too.)
This is what I’m afraid of as well.
I would hope the vets would suggest euthanasia if he were that bad off. He doesn’t look too bad in the latest videos. I guess I am trying to be an optimist. Maybe he won’t have the lifespan of a healthy horse but young animals can remodel bone and adapt to an extent. If this was truly hopeless I think the vets would say so.
I remember when I was a child, someone had a premature foal that had the bones incompletely formed in its legs. They did casts and a great deal of work to save him. Back then, most people would have euthanized. He actually made a full recovery and it was hailed a miracle at the time. The amount of work was intense as the casts rubbed and had to be redesigned several times. I don’t recall more details then that.
He looks pretty perky and lively in the latest videos.
How much money do they even make from social media views? Does anyone know how much they make per click? I’m not sure it would even begin to cover the cost of his care. Now if the owner is just doing this for the attention, now that would be sick.
I think most people would have euthanized. It’s a reasonable response. He also looks incredibly tiny in those videos. Not sure what her goals are here. Maybe she will only euthanize when all options have failed just so she knows she did everything possible to save him?
I can’t imagine the meltdown her followers would have if she euthanized him. She makes a good living off social media. I don’t know how many flowers she has, but she posts on most, if not all, platforms. She has her subscribers too that pay a small fee to see some of her content before she posts publicly too.
Here’s what I found with a Quick Look on google
She has made enough money from social media to buy a $1,000,000+ stallion, and she is only 28 years old!
At 28, I was just happy to be able to afford a horse!
Her family had a farm and breeding operation before. I don’t know how successful they were before she went viral on social media for a photo shoot of her in hunting gear. She did a video on it quite a while ago. She managed to get followers and capitalized on it.
Her life drastically improved after that photo went viral and she started making videos about the horses. She has brands and she posts a lot.
She’s making a lot of money on the views and videos of this foal, but she gets a ton of views on her breeding operation in general. People are always commenting for foal updates and her horses. The stallion she bought brought in a ton of views too. She has hundreds of videos of him. She’s quite interactive with her followers. So many videos are just based on comments and questions which makes more comments and views happen.
That foal just brings in a lot of views and user interaction which is a big part of the algorithm on TikTok. She’s probably making over 10k on each video over all the platforms. That doesn’t include all the brand products she’s getting, which with an influencer this large isn’t just a drop in the bucket.
For personal reference, I help to manage an account with 30k followers and decent interaction and shares on videos (2k to 20k likes). It gets a few hundred to a thousand a month in income. This said account is pet based and the amount of products sent is kind of insane. Pet foods, toys, treats, clothes, litter boxes sent for free in hopes that the person will post a video including the product. Thousands of dollars in products. It was just a way for my friend to post fun videos of her family’s and friends pets.
Regarding Seven’s owner…When influencers reach that level of income based on essentially pimping out views of their pets, the animals are now commodities. I’ve seen how destructive such things can be when people do this to their children, but I didn’t really think about how bad it could be for animals until this lady came along.
There’s a way to do this without damaging the animal’s well being. Especially if done in a spirit of fun and followers just encourage you to spend more time with your animals. Or, if you have important knowledge to pass on about training or caring for animals.
at 28 working as a vet tech I was happy enough to afford a place to live and food
if I were in this clinic I would quit and make very sure the owners / admin knew why
I think the real issue here is the horse is at UT Knoxville, a vet school.
They have hired tech staff along with vet students. Perhaps this sad story is teaching the students something more that medicine. Happened when I was in school and I took it to the department head
Sadly a vet school job is likely one that comes with benefits that you don’t see in public clinical
Today’s update- a spot of what might be infection, so back on IV antibiotics and hyperbaric oxygen treatment.

Vet makes a comment about “clearly he’s sooo sad and mistreated” which didn’t land well with me in reference to a foal with casts on his legs that just got some of his hard earned shred of freedom and normalcy taken back away.
I’m not defending her at all. The foal needs to be put down in my personal opinion. I think it’s actually rather disgusting to profit off a creature with no quality of life. I also think that content creators with that use and profit off their children are no better than stage parents. I am against the practice. I’m just commenting on possible income, brand gifts, and her social media content.
She really doesn’t need to prolong the suffering of this foal for monetary gain, especially when she is profiting quite well without him. Also, from her audience comments on a lot of her videos, the people that she interacts with - her fans - usually aren’t educated horse people. I don’t personally like the creator, I’m really not into her videos or content, but this foal is too much. It’s cruel.
No worries. I didn’t read your post that way. Thank you for your insight on how content creation works.
I watched about half that video, until Seven looked out the window repeatedly and it occurred to me that he doesn’t know the outside world.
All he knows is medical procedures and sticks and pokes.
What a sad life for a foal to live.
From HVC, the Facebook group. Several vets in the comments agreeing that what is happening to Baby Seven is not in his best interests.
Don’t take this wrong, but "all he knows’ is exactly that.
I agree it’s a sad life, but that is our human perspective.
As far as 7 knows, his World is The World.
My fear is that RF, if nothing else, is going to fail him & then the need for euth should become immediate.
Will it?
If the Bank of KVS feels otherwise, probably not.
I also saw that FB post. I think the owner’s vet is… not very good. Is there any chance a foal born before 270 days would make it?
The vets who respond are so kind and patient. It just makes me sad that so many of the people who post seem to not know much about horses. Lots of “I rescued this horse and it’s my first horse and… (insert serious red flag here)”
I get that he doesn’t know any other life, but you cannot tell me every day is not painful for him.
No, I can’t.
But I’m betting the vets at UTN have enough painkillers on board so at best he’s in a haze.
Horses are born stoic, it’s part of being a genetically prey species.
Since 7 never knew a normal, comfortable life, what he’s going through is all he knows.
KVS, OTOH
