Vet for PPE in Coatesville, PA?

Good options for a vet who will do what I ask and no more since I can’t be present?

Celia Goodall, New Bolton Field Service, Kevin Keane, Barb Stewart, Steve Berkowitz/Mark Donaldson.

Pick any of the above.

I used Mark Donaldson a year ago and couldn’t have been happier. I was there but had to be on a conference call during the clinical portion. He checked in with me before starting films and was very easy to work with.
Came highly recommended by several people and my very picky vet.
As a bonus, horse passed with flying colors and was super sound his first year with me.

Amy Woodford as well as the above mentioned vets from Unionville Equine are very good.

ETA: New Bolton Center is also doing PPE I think too.

I like Dr. Tyra Crowley of Complete Equine Health Services. I do not care for the owner Dr. Jimenez. I don’t know enough about Dr. Frederickson of that practice to recommend her.

Unionville Equine Associates-Dr Patti Blakeslee or Mark Donaldson

In addition to the mentioned, many of whom are my faves, Mary Griffin.

Another vote for Mark Donaldson. We were buying a horse w a ton of mileage so we needed a vet who wouldn’t auto fail a horse w wear and tear. We were present and were thrilled with how he handled the vetting.

Use Mary Griffin when the War Horse is north. Like her quite well.

Thanks!

Another vote for Dr. Keane

Yes New Bolton does do PPE’s as well.

I sent you. PM …your box is full. From a person who see s A lot of PPE s regularly

Dr. Carolyn Littel
Steve Berkowitz
Mark Donaldson
Chuck Arnesberg
Kevin Keane

I will, also mention A lot of my PPE s are done with buyer on phone and not present and everyone has always been more than pleased with the communications every step,of the way. Privately, and discretely.!!

I don t have NBC to many students practicing on flexions for consistency you want 1 person from beginning to end.

Jeff Rubin (Equine Veterinary Services)
He, Kevin, Carolyn and Charlotte Robson were together at Delaware Equine until it split years ago

I’m down in Northern Virginia, but my normal vet practice has a lot of students and interns that rotate through. In my experience, the vets always, 100% ask, before anyone that is not a fully qualified vet does anything with my horses.

I’d just let the vet you schedule know that you don’t want residents or interns assisting him or her, and I’m pretty sure that the vet will respect that…

Agree with SaddleFitterVA - I’ve never had a vet not comply when I asked that a student not participate in a procedure if I wasn’t comfortable with it.

Steve Berkowitz vetted mine. He was excellent. Very thorough in both the exam and in explaining things to me.

New Bolton does do PPE’s and they now have a new indoor arena with excellent performance footing.

I must say I find it hard to believe that a top caliber clinic like NBC would insist that students do flexions, especially for a PPE. I too have had my horses (and other animals, fwiw) seen by teaching clinics and have never run into the problem of students doing things I preferred the Vet to see to.

Well it turns out the OP is vetting a horse at the same place as me, so we are trying to coordinate with my vet to do them back to back. Glad we weren’t interested in the same horse!
