Walmart: Manna Senior horse feed?!??!

It’s amazing what I’m finding in Walmart. Stumbled across this. A google search doesn’t show the exact product… This one was in a purple bag. Only ones I’m finding on line are green or light blue labeling.

Im sure it’s garbage, but if anyone is familiar with this product, I’d love to see the nutrition tag.

Google experts need not respond

Again… in the purple bag. Thanks much!

It’s from Family Farm, Manna Senior. I can’t upload a pic…

Hard pass. Manna Pro had a recall of another product in this line for monensin contamination.

Guessing this stuff is a “budget” line from Manna Pro for lower end retailers. Not a quality feed.

I didn’t ask about recalls… I asked about nutrition.

Huh. You don’t think monensin contamination falls under nutrition? 🤷

At the very least, it would be worthwhile to check on the mills this stuff is being produced in. Ionophore free or not?

The 40# bag sure makes it seem more price conscious than it is. Shows $16/bag, so $20 for 50#? There sure are a lot of high quality feeds available at that price point!

I feel like she was just interested in taking a gander at the label. I don’t think she was actually interested in buying it.

OP, I’ve seen Walmart’s sell horse feed! You’re so not on the east coast any more

Wish I could upload the photo of the horse supplies there…gobsmacked. Sand Clear, Fly spray, Weight Gainer, topical meds, Co-Flex, Bedding, horse treats, fly masks, dewormer… Oh, and PIG FEED too! snort Whoda thunk it?!

And they had fish sauce for my turkey larb. And red chili paste. And coconut milk. No capers though…

But yeah, back to my question… curious about the nutrition it offers, supposedly. Ingredients not so important. I’m curious to see what the company is saying it does.

Haha, you don’t even have to leave Connecticut to buy this–it’s in stock at Walmart here.

You’re assuming I go to Walmart on my own volition. I’ve been dragged five times in the last 10 plus years and all of it was out west.

Dang!!! Still not gonna go!

I’m not assuming anything, and I sure don’t shop at Walmart either. But via the power of the internet, I can tell this product is available for sale in Connecticut.

It also appears to only be sold by Walmart. Some sort of house brand for them? Perhaps like the Dumor stuff at Tractor Supply.

Yeah I’m not curious enough to google to see which states Walmart sells what product in to make a point. I just saw horse products in one out west.

“Which states sell Walmart sells what product”…?

Different brands and types of feed are always of interest to me. There are so many out there! Learning of new options is always worthwhile

You made a point to say you can find it in CT when I told the OP welcome to the west. That’s based on my personal experience not a google search. Googling to see if Wally World in CT sells this brand of feed is NOT relevant to the conversation unless one just wants to correct posters for the sake of correcting them via google. Since you established in your first post that you wouldn’t feed this product, I’m confused as to why you took the time to correct me about Walmart selling this product in CT when the OP no longer lives there and neither do I.

Perhaps because there are others who may be interested. This product is not limited to the west, nor is Walmart selling horse feed. Amazing, right? :encouragement:

ANYHOOOOO… BACK to the original question:

Anybody able to list nutrition for this product? Perhaps snap a photo of the bag itself? I’m under the impression it’s 4% fat, 12-ish percent protein…?

Could it be the same product just different packaging from what’s shown online? My bad, didn’t realize there’s manna people and family farm manna. Weird there’s no label anywhere.

So you’re assuming it’s just Manna Pro Senior, rebagged under the Family Farm branding?

That info is here.

In general, most generic store brands are namebrand products without the labeling. Tractor Supply’s Dumor Hoof is Farrier’s Formula as an example, Aldi’s products, and yes even Walmart.

I can check my small town Walmart and see if we carry the senior, we do carry horse feed although nobody seems to buy it. We have a Rural King and a TSC as well.

If anyone can snap a photo of the nutrient listing on the bag itself, that’d be great.
I’ll be heading back to ‘Warmit’ in a few days and will circle back if I get there before someone here can offer specifics.

enjoytheride, thanks for that thought. I’m pretty sure that’s what’s going on here. Just was curious to see specifics if anyone happened to have one nearby.

LOVE Aldi’s for their knock offs! I find much of their stuff is better than the name brand items.
