Thanks for this tip! I just did this and it seems to be working okay for now.
I have Hulu tive, which works to sign into the NBCOlympics site to watch events live. I feel like this is the first year that I’ve had to have some kind of paid service to watch obscure events in their entirety - but I still had expensive cable in 2016, so maybe that was part of the difference.
I was prepared to have to use a HDMI cable from my laptop to watch equestrian stuff on my larger screen TV but ran into a glitch - other than my actual work laptop (I own the company and can do whatever I want with it…), I think due to quality of the video stream, I literally could not get either of my older laptops to play the video either at all or not freeze at an annoying frequency. I’m talking like every 5 seconds or so.
I have one more laptop that I inherited from my late uncle, but the workaround for the password that none of us were ever able to figure out got blown away the last time I used it and reverted back to the one I don’t know. I, however, did not discover this until I was working on setting it up last night. So, sitting at my desk at 5AM to watch the team finals this morning.
ETA - the above is why you should not wait until you want to watch something on a different platform. I had searched a bit on my Firestick for a NBC option other than Peacock, which they’ve been shoving down our throats for months - apparently all I needed to do was actually find the NBC SPORTS app in the list and log into it with my HULU credentials. Ugh. At least the rest of the early morning stuff can be watched from the comfort of my living room sofa.
I have 2 ways that are working now.

(Cheating) I got my dad’s cable log in and saved it on my phone so I can watch on the NBC Sports App whenever I want.

We added the “Equestrian” events part of the olympics onto our YouTube Tv Library. So I can watch the broadcast//highlights version whenever I want. Tip Better commentary on the App FYI.

FYI this worked for me.
I use roku (no fee, but you need to purchase a roku unit … perhaps doing the below in a laptop will work ).
I signed up for the $10 SLING TV trial
I added NBC sports app to my roku
The NBC sport app on roku gave me a code and website to visit.
I punched in that I use a roku, I then punched in the given code… the website then asks for my TV provider, I scrolled down and clicked on Sling TV… the website then asks for me to enter my sling TV email address and Pass word.
I am currrently watching a replay of the dressage grand prix special from earlier today
Good luck!
I did the same, using Hulu. Pretty amazing to be able to play back in it’s entirety. Lucinda Greens commentary is lovely. Now, if I can figure out how to jump forward without messing up the sound…overall small issue. Adding if you have a smart TV that doesn’t need Roku you can download the NBC Sports app directly on your TV then follow the same steps as above less then Roku piece.
I am also using the Hulu Live free week & NBC Sports sign in, and I am not having an issue with fast-forwarding through the breaks. I am forever grateful to the poster who found this solution!
I don’t see why they can’t have delayed replay with ads. or pay per event. So irritating.
I can forward watching the replays on the TV (Roku with Hulu sign on NBC Sports app) just not my iPad. Truly a first world problem.
That’s what the app has. Replay with ads.

Thank you for this tutorial! Watching the freestyle replay now!
I did the $10 Sling subscription and was able to log in to NBC sports with that login! The commercials are driving me nuts, I haven’t had cable in YEARS and it’s been so long since I’ve had to watch ads like ENOUGH
At the least some variety would be nice. I’ve seen the same three ads many many times And I couldn’t even tell you what the quinceañera one is advertising.
The ads seem to be different per user and somewhat location based.
For example, I haven’t seen the quincenera one at all. But today I’ve seen the Black Rifle Coffee ad about 101 times (or so it feels).
Haven’t seen that one. The other two in heavy rotation involve racing avocados and food delivery to a swimming pool. Unfortunately, the cat-Chevy one only appears when I watch regular NBC on my TV.
So odd. I keep getting the Toyota concept karaoke ad. Over and over and over.
For some reason, although NBC Sports equestrian coverage wouldn’t work on my laptop, and blocked me, the app I downloaded on my phone is…I have the cross-country on it right now!
Does anyone know how long the Olympic replays will be available via Roku after the Games are over. I am so hopelessly behind- still finishing the dressage individual final replay It’s not helping that the ability to fast forward is spotty at best, and Roku is not always bringing me back to where I left off so sometimes I’m having to start over from the beginning and try to remember where I stopped watching to try to fast forward. Yes, I get it: First World Equestrian Problems! But I do want to watch as much as possible before it disappears.
Just back from vacation - does nbc sports have the full streams of the equestrian events? So if I signed up for Hulu live will I be able to watch some complete events in replay? I don’t want to pay $65 just for some highlight reels…
Firestick is the solution. There are many channels which show these Olympics. Here are some ideas - https://www.firesticktricks.com/watch-tokyo-olympics-firestick.html. Olympic channel has probably the best coverage. My husband prefers Peacock.
I have Hulu. It’s been great. Logged in once on each of our TVs using our username and password and I’ve been able to watch all the replays on the NBC Sports app. Just filter by Equestrian. Several others used the Sling $10 trial for the first month. Works the same as I understand.
