Well, that’s fine except that she was selected because her dressage is supposed to be so good.
No…the potential in all three phases is good and that is why they were picked—they were also jumping better than others in the selection process. That horse is a horse of a lifetime and a good jumper. She’s 23. I wouldn’t count them out. They did have the potential to score low 30s but that would have been surprising for her to do in her first Olympics. Her test was decent just the mistake in the extended canter and tension at the end (late change etc)–without that, it would have been sub 50 for sure. Regardless…I think she was robbed a bit too (as was Boyd). But she rode it well. This is a very good combination for WEG and Rio if they keep it all together.

At least in the US you get provisions to watch it online. Australia is in the dark ages.

However, Chris Burton and Leilani leading after 11 riders, so keep it up Chris!!!
New Zealand too. Unless I want to pay for Sky, which I don’t.

Where can you get the scores online?

By the way, it is long since over, so I am confused that you are posting as if some horses have not yet gone.

Doesn’t dressage continue tomorrow?

Just a PSA…

I’m living in Australia at the moment but had planned to watch via NBC (my US cable is active so I can log on.) however, the NBC site was driving me crazy. So I swapped my VPN over to the UK and I can tell you the BBC coverage is much better!

You can watch it from anywhere in the world if you have a UK VPN. To get one you go thru a service like VPN authority. It costs about 6 bucks for a month and you can connect or disconnect at will. The streaming is great with minimal buffering and the commentary by Ian Stark and Mike Tucker is the best you will find I think. Anyone planning to watch the whole eventing portion should consider it!

Help, Please

I’ve spent the day trying to get the “catch-up” video of this morning’s dressage. I used the cnet to bbc as per only internet, since we don’t have tv.

I can get both catch-up and live feed for other sports BUT not eventing. The circle goes around, then a message that the content isn’t available. Anyone else run into this? Suggestions are gratefully received…

I’m having the same problem and am guessing it’s actually a BBC issue with the tape. I hope so.

Thank you.

What about Day 2 dressage?

Having the same problem with the bbc catchup. I think it is particular to that event because the player is working with other events. Just a matter of waiting, I would guess.

Thanks for the hand -holding! I sure hope that the techies notice before they close up for the night… Beach volleyball is on its last match… And the U.S. Sweet Young Things are wearing tops and the Aussies have on long pants…

I so would rather be watching the BBC…and would pay for it. The no commentary by NBC is incredibly boring.

It seems to be blocked for those of us in the USA…I don’t understand the VPN. Is there a for dummy way how to do this? Google is failing me at the moment…

Incorrect! Day 2 of eventing dressage is Sunday.

Sorry for not being clearer. I meant SATURDAY’S dressage ws long since over.

People were posting about individual rides hours after they were ridden. Was the US feed on a delay?

I don’t know about others, but I’m not watching live (in NZ though, not the US). I watch for free, but delayed (and NZ riders only), on TV.

I’m loving foxtel 8 olympics channels! Thanks to living on a tb farm so we get the racing channels which makes the olympic channels free! Woot!

Nice to see the Brazilian man wearing a helmet. Zara did a nice test, love the fact she makes her own horses.

Lenamore is about to go in.

Google “VPN authority” . You can sign up for very little and then you just have to connect before you pull up the bbc site.

The PONY just NAILED her dressage!! Portersize Just a Jiff did a GREAT test for Camilla Spears!!! GO IRELAND!!! GO PONIES!!!

Some quite lovely dressage! I especially appreciate those who go in snaffles! How it’s come a long way - and in a good sense, I think. Happy horses, going well… maybe it’s partially because they don’t have to be as fit as they used to be, but regardless, well done by all!

I nearly just welled with tears watching little Jiff and Camilla! I just love that pair! Taking her from young riders to the Olympics.
