I love a cat, secure in his own self to lie like that and allow deep belly rubs. Bug will allow them but you have to start elsewhere and work carefully toward the belly.
Oh yes, Milo is very secure in himself. His cute little noodle is filled with sunshine, rainbows and fluff. He is sweet guileless goofus who thinks he is prince of the world. It doesn’t help that I spoil him rotten and love that he is a mama’s boy.

I love the little ring at the end of his tail!
His tail ring and nose sploot are what drew me to him. His personality sealed the deal
Milo is convinced I broke the door when I replaced the passage lock.
He can no longer lever the door open to visit the basement
Lol! There’s nothing a cat hates more than a closed door.
ESPECIALLY a door he was accustomed to opening
Meet Paisley!
I adopted her from a local group at the very end of last year. She is sassy, smart, and sweet. It took a bit of work to get her integrated with Tom, but we all got it done. They are starting to become friends and I suspect he’ll never be bored again. Her backstory is that she was found in a storage facility somewhere in the San Fernando Valley. Not sure how she survived since she was about 3-4 months old when they found her. I have no idea how feral she was or wasn’t when they found her, but whoever fostered her for the group did a wonderful job.
Some of you may recall the saga of my dad’s cat, Foxxy, that I was never able to integrate with Tom. She was just too afraid of other cats and he is not the most socially adept. The same group that I got Paisley from agreed to take her and try to find her a home. Shortly after she arrived, an older gentleman with no other cats came in and they told him they had the perfect cat. They bonded and she has a lovely new home. So, after the end-of-year craziness was just about over, I went back and got Paisley.
In other news, I have embarked on a Working Cat (not an oxymoron!) project for my photo class this year.
So far I have met two cats.
Alfie, a Home Depot Cat, fits right in with the other Home Depot employees in his orange suit. He was sleeping in the area with the light display so he wasn’t exactly working, but at least the light was good.
Paiges works in The Book Jewel, a wonderful independent bookstore just north of LAX in downtown Westchester.
If anyone knows of any working cats in the greater Los Angeles area (including Moorpark/Thousand Oaks) let me know. I have a line on a garden center cat, another bookstore cat, an art store cat, and numerous barn cats.
I have a coffee table book about working cats that I have had for a round 20 years. If I can find it, I will post a couple of photos.
He’s on break
Definitely the manager
Benny Boy brewing on Daly in LA has cat employees.
Thank you!
I actually have that. I found a used copy somewhere along the line. It’s a great book and I’ve been using it for inspiration.
Thank you!
