We need some cute Kitty pics to cheer us up

Poor Baler!

Ralph waits until the fitted sheet is put on, then he stages his protest of “his” bed being manhandled and messed with. He gets in the middle of the bed, lays on his back and extends all four legs. Then he looks at me with his, “Go ahead, make my day”, stare.

Binx the Campus Cat was definitely enjoying his new toy today! He has several, but this is the only one he carries with him all over the building.

I wish my college would have had a campus cat!

He is an absolute goofball. We all love him, but sometimes he can get to be just a tad much. Then, we stick him outside and he gets to go back home.

It’s sort of like what I imagine having grandchildren is like.

He gets under there and attacks my feet as I go by.
Once I retire for the night, there’s no getting up again, lest I become his prey.
Its like that “the floor is molten lava” game we played as kids, only painful. :joy:

Grandcat is too young yet to qualify.

We had one for a time, a tuxedo named Artemis. The corner of the college next to our building is adjacent to a residential area and he belonged to one of the neighbors. He would wander over, sit in on classes, and visit people in offices. I was doing a molecular model lab one day when a student brought her young daughter due to a childcare mishap. I gave the kid a model set and she started to play with it, assembling molecules. Enter Artemis. Rolling the round wooden atoms for him to chase was way more fun than making molecules. Fairly soon, about half the class was sitting on the floor and using the model kits as cat toys. This was unfortunately way before cell phone cameras so there is no visual record.

Peach is enjoying the sunshine this morning. She only gets to do this on weekends.

I already have enough ginger cats so while I appreciate the beautiful Peach, I won’t ask if I can borrow her. Your green vessel collection is another thing altogether, where do you find all of these treasures? I especially like the short bowl with the brown rim and the medium height cylinder shaped one.

I collect early 20th century American production art pottery, so all that stuff was made by then-common Ohio potteries like Weller (the low one with the brown rim) and Robinson Ransbottom (the midsize green sand jar for cigarette butts) and McCoy, etc.

Mostly I’ve found them in thrift shops and flea markets because they’re not popular with millennials so a lot of pieces are being tossed out as the elderly original owners pass away or downsize.

The animal-shaped pottery flower frogs from the same era that I also collect I mostly find online because they just don’t show up in the wild where I live.

I wish I could find pieces like that here in Canada, they’re gorgeous.

Here in Canada the millennials have been catching onto items that are worth something. There are bidding wars going on in auctions at the thrift stores for genuine glass, pyrex and handmade quilts among other things. I’ve won a few that I’m quite happy with.

Mr. Beazley was laying on me while I was reading in bed, as he does. And I discovered this portrait filter on my iPhone.

Independence aka Indy
Barncat Extraordinaire & Head Verminator
2004-2015
Wandered up my driveway 4th of July the year I moved to the farm as a 8-10wk kitten, with her orange tabby brother Day.
Sadly, he was killed on the road at 6mos.
I’d planned to bring her indoors as she got older.
She was never interested in coming in, though she’d come to the door to let me know it was time to Feed the Barncat, or just for cuddles & scritches.
She took the decision from me, passing from (suspected) stroke.

I have a stray cat that showed up to, he has almost identical markings!

One if the shelter kittens I got to replace her.
(Both are now housecats :smirk:) is almost her twin.
I got him sight unseen, called the shelter, they told me they had 2…
Here’s Bounce:

Th other was from another location of the same shelter, also taken sight unseen.
Indy’s brother - Day- was an orange tabby.

Second picture, is he trying to do a Vulcan mind meld or is it a “bless you, my son”?
