We need some cute Kitty pics to cheer us up

Bob, the owner surrender who languished in the local shelter since November. He was already neutered, a sweet lap kitty and great with both cats and dogs.

I can’t understand why he went so long before being adopted!

'Cause, apparently, he hogs the television remote!

Miggy is considering his future career as a lap kitty. Here he is weighing his options as he snuggles against my side and beneath my arm. A moment after I took this, he decided my fingers needed to be attacked.

It’s when they get that super angelic look on their faces you need to beware. That face says butter would melt in his mouth. He is too cute - and he knows it. :smile_cat:

Lucy, decides to explore the fence on my back balcony. Naughty kitten. We had discussions about this.

Then she decides to walk the rail. :scream::grimacing: Not acceptable little one. Remember the saying “curiosity killed the kitty……”

So, have to come up with a plan to keep her off. Plastic “pigeon/cat guard”.

“Hmmmm, this is a challenge…… I accept the challenge”

The kitty wins this round :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

So, now working on “Plan B”

(I found some plastic guard that the points are 4” long and am thinking of mounting a strip along the inside of the rail so that they would be parallel to the deck surface. Maybe this would prevent her from being able to access the railing. However, I’m afraid she might just try and jump directly up onto the railing, land on the vertical “spikes” and tumble off.)

In the meantime, the mighty feline family members are now denied access to the deck unless I am right there. Almost 35 years living here with many generations of cats without incident, and this little monkey changes the whole game. All the other cats throughout history simply enjoy hanging out and sleeping in the sun. When I redid the deck 20 years ago, we placed all the wires close together so a cat could not slip or crawl through (and to meet current code)… We even created the railing with a peak in the center to discourage a cat from thinking about exploring it. I’m hoping she settles down when she gets a bit older. I traditionally adopt older, mature cats from the shelter but the latest two were/are young ones that were dumped/starved and needed a soft landing. The other one who showed up a year plus ago, starved, cold, wet, etc is the exact opposite: polite, respectful, elegant, well-mannered, etc…….and then there is Lucy.:scream::roll_eyes:

Peep……please talk to her!

a long time ago when I lived in an apartment, one of them was on the third floor. There was a balcony, and my cat went out on it. One day, I couldn’t find him so I looked on the balcony, and I saw him-three apartments over! He came back LEAPING from one balcony to the next. After scaring me to death, his access to the balcony became very limited.

Oh my heavens! She’s so beautiful and wants the whole neighborhood to see her :joy: I thought the pigeon guard pictures would keep her off but she reminds me of a young Peep. VERY bad but then became VERY good! You’ll get there but I will still tell Peep to send some “be a good kitten” vibes to Lucy!

:open_mouth: OMG what a daredevil! Would screening the balcony in be an option? Little Lucy would be giving me a heart attack. I’m sure she will mellow a bit with age but until then I bet she keeps you on your toes!

Bad kitty! No NO!

I got dizzy just looking at those pictures. Yikes!

That gave me grey hairs!
And then after seeing your pics, yesterday I saw a tiktok or reel… ??.. of a kitty on a balcony just like yours, wearing a “vest” someone had attached wiffle balls to, a couple on each side, so kitty could not fit through the bars of the railing.

Clearly these balconies and cat shenanigans are common.
