WEG Prep Trials

Love, love, love that it’s going to be in Virginia!!!

Who all is going?!

Probably me! Seen anything about volunteering?

Was at the location for the Virginia Gold Cup, first weekend in May. Hadn’t started doing anything to the grounds. Any update on the progress? Yes will go.

We have three tents reserved and already have catering reserved - very excited!!!

I have what I’m sure are dumb questions. Does just the team compete? Or do the alternates compete as well? What is the level? CCI*** CIC*** or something shorter and more like an advanced HT?

I am considering going, but it will now be with someone who is not horsey, so I am curious.

i know i saw where tickets can be purchased, but now i cant find the info. anyone know where tickets can be bought?

OH, I got my car pass as a Living Social (or Groupon–don’t remember which but you can look on each of their sites) deal! It was $25 for BOTH days!

Awh, dang, sorry, sold out:

that was fast/ quick:yes: to sell out; do they need any volunteers:confused:?

Ugh we’ll be in VA the following weekend. Can’t bump up the trip though as I’ve got a dressage show that weekend.

When I called they were done with jump judges and needed other volunteers. I got sick of playing phone tag, which ended up being better since I changed my mind.

Yesterday I was out shopping and overhead an ad on the store radio, which mentioned the tickets are for sale at local Wegmans grocery stores (in Virginia). I don’t know, I also heard spectators will watch XC from the rails/fence-side of the course (similar as they do for Gold Cup). I don’t know if I’ll go, or not. Part of me feels like it is hype, part of me wants to support the “team.” Still on the fence…

According to the Eventing Radio Show, it sounds like the Canadian riders will be there also!

I’m excited. I drive by every day and used to compete there back in the day, so it will be fun to see eventing return!

Tickets

Carol - I think she meant the Living Social deal is sold out, not tix directly from Great Meadow?

53: How did you arrange for the catering? I’m not finding much information on the website.

I have been to other hunt races but not the Gold Cup, I take it this is some distance away from the fences?

That will depend on WHERE they place the portables.

I saw one of the jumps set up right by 17 (a hay wagon). It seems they brought some of the portable jumps from Morven. I know Great Meadow just expanded with some new property and I think a chunk of the course will be on it. Very exciting, and if XC runs early Sunday, I might even get to watch before work!
