Well, that didnt take long

I am so confused about why the Gallery is also labeled as “Stallions.”

A tiny thumbnail of a random horse. A horse hacking down a road in a double bridle and…???

I knew people who did, they applied and they got it. Lots of ppl did because I don’t think it was being reviewed before hand out, but they probably have to pay it back lol

Then you could perfect your decarpentry lounging!

I can do that ^ - and I would like to sign up for D’OH!! Small problem - I do not have my own horse at this moment… none of the 26 critters here are “mine”. Please advise!

It’s Alan Buck thinking he’s doing a Nuno Oliveira thing.

OMG! Is that really the Reverend?

In case you have not cringed this morning, this is Allan Buck, umm, “schooling” a horse:

That’s the product of his 40 years of horse experience that he keeps going on and on about.

Anytime he criticizes a competition rider for tension, impure gaits, being heavy handed, etc., just remember this magickal training session.

Jeezus, why doesn’t he let that poor animal move forward?

Just goes to show that heavy hands can pi$$ off a horse even without a bit.

That is however not as bad as the “Gloria” videos

Well, there is a moment where he holds the poor horse in the bridle while kicking the horse forward and screaming “TROT!” over and over so I think he is trying to get some piaffe steps. Ironically he is teaching it out of total tension and in a non-classical way yet harps to the masses that everything should be light, magickal and without tension.

He also has stated many times that the bitless bridle he designed (and I assume, is using) is effective only if the rider knows how to release pressure and that pressure won’t be applied by the bridle by riding with, word for word, “ounces” on the rein. His entire seat is dependent on heavily clinging to the reins and I don’t see a single release.

Jesus…is he thinking he is doing working equitation?

He’s thinking that he’s Nuno Oliveira and demonstrating the handiness of his collected (off the bit) work.

All it needs is Nuno’s guitar music. Or maybe a really slowed-down interpretation of Boot Randolph’s Yackety Sax aka the Benny Hill song.

I could only watch about :20 of that.

But I honestly couldn’t tell whether it was supposed to be walking (but was slowly jigging instead) or trotting (but at WP speed).

WP horses are much more relaxed than that, but otherwise agree. It took me two tries to get through it. Effing awful comes to mind, poor stressed horse.

That horse was a saint…

Hollenbach was a student of Walter Zettl’s at one time. I attended a clinic given by WZ many years ago at the farm, and HH seemed quite normal back then. You wonder what makes a respectable rider go rogue!
