Wellfleet bridles on sale at Smartpak

It looks like they are making a new version of the wellfleet bridle so the old ones are on sale for about 75% off. I have the hunter bridle for the horse I lease and I love it… It looks nicer than the Edgewood I had previously. I just bought one for my own horse for $65. Just thought I would share in case anyone is bridle hunting!

Umm, thanks, I think. I just bought a bridle I didn’t REALLY need, but at that price, for what people seem to say is a very high quality bridle, I couldn’t resist. Of course, I had to add on a new bit, so I could get the free shipping, but I was looking at buying that, anyway. For anyone else who is looking, all the hunter bridles are down to O/S and pony, except the wide noseband fancy stitched, they have cobs. There are no horse sizes at all. Hoping the cob size works. My old Dover horse size bridle has to be adjusted almost all the way up and the caveson is a bit loose tightened all the way. If not, at least they have free return shipping!

Not sure if I should thank you or be mad I opened this thread. With my USEF and SmartPerks it was >$60 for a $250+ bridle. Can’t go wrong with that. Now praying the O/S fits my horses head!

PUTP is an enabler! I knew the O/S would be a definite no go, so my hopes hang on the cob working! Some pony moms need to jump in and buy up all those pony models still available!

Ditto! Just bought a bridle for a horse I don’t own (yet). I figure this guarantees he fails the PPE, but couldn’t let this deal pass me by…

I’m trying to O/S out… hope it works. I highly doubt the cob would.

If anyone bought a raised fancy stitch cob and it doesn’t work for your horse, call me. At this price I can justify a new bridle!

I didn’t need to buy one but the price is too good to pass up but the lack of horse size solved that problem for me!

I bought one too. Already have 2 other bridles.

Maybe I should buy a cob too just in case… hmmm

The horse size fits this guy on the holes close to the top of the bridle, and he has a big head!

I think they run a little big. I needed a cob size for my baby but all they had was the wide noseband style… Hopefully it doesn’t look ridiculous on her small head!here she is:

How does the sizing run on the “cob” sized? My mare’s in a “full” sized older Crosby, on mostly top-ish buckles. I’m very tempted to get one to try, at that price, and the Fulls are all sold out.

Yeaaah I jumped on yesterday’s psa when they were only 50% off :frowning:

Could I buy a second one and return the first one? Returns on closeout items sounds too good to be true for exactly this reason!

I have the cob sized figure eight. Everything runs large, except for maybe the browband.

Their policy doesn’t say anything about not accepting returns on sale items, so I don’t see why not! I could be missing it though.

Wow, if you have smart perks it takes another 10% off, I just ordered one for $60.74. Glad my guy has a big head, the oversize fits him well.

I looked and couldn’t find anything either.

Maybe I should just buy a second bridle (different model, keep both) at the new price so that the average is ~$100 each and call it good?

Try calling them first. I had something recently that I bought go on sale the day after and they he just issued me a credit over the phone.

I resisted buying an O/S, although I almost had it justified, I have a yearling WB, who is eventually prob going to need an O/S. But since that’s going to be a little while, I passed. :D. I’m trying to be strong.

Looks like all that’s left is O/S, with maybe one or two models having a Pony size available (the Nantucket is on sale, in addition to the Wellfleet). One of my geldings has a big moose head, so I ordered him a Wellfleet fancy stitch with extra-long reins (we do the breed shows, so those come in handy for long-and-low) for less than $61.00. Really didn’t need another bridle, but for that price, who can resist?
