Wellfleet bridles on sale at Smartpak

I scored one of the cob sized ones last night so hopefully it’ll fit my TB’s head. I’ve been wanting a new bridle forever (mine turns 20 years old this month and while it is still fully functional, it looks like a 20 year old bridle) but vet bills keep eating all of my spare money. But for 60 some odd bucks, how could I pass this up?!

I did ship it to the barn so my husband won’t know what I just did (to paraphrase Sheldon Cooper…Mom just bought a new bridle. Jesus doesn’t mind but we can’t tell dad!). He doesn’t pay that close of attention to my tack to notice if the bride is from 1994 or 2014.

I bought a cob and an oversize. I would post whichever one doesn’t fit but I’m guessing that wouldn’t be allowed. I bet they’ll start showing up on ebay and classified sites though!

Just a tip, for those of you getting o/s, you can always find shorter cheekpieces. I do that all the time for my smallish headed horses … buy a horse bridle and use cob cheekpieces.

My horses wear O/S so I am a happy camper. Thanks!!

Luckily for me they don’t have any more horse size in stock, otherwise I’d be buying one!

Darn all of you for buying up the cob sizes while I was at a wedding with no internet access :frowning: Now I will just have to sit here and pout instead of buying a bridle. Woe.

I suspect there will be many on the secondary market soon when people discover the ones they bought don’t fit and go to resell them. Hang tight those who missed out! Check CL, ebay, etc.

Try calling them first. I had something recently that I bought go on sale the day after and they he just issued me a credit over the phone.

I resisted buying an O/S, although I almost had it justified, I have a yearling WB, who is eventually prob going to need an O/S. But since that’s going to be a little while, I passed. :D. I’m trying to be strong.[/QUOTE]

Exactly what I’m holding on for if the figure 8 I bought doesn’t fit my mare. My 4 month old filly is my hope!

Kicking myself for not ordering the matching $28 standing martingale =\

Dang, I totally wiffed on the martingale! Didn’t even think about it and I REALLY needed one of those. Definitely can’t make the pony (all that’s left) work. Probably could have gone O/S on that one.

Slight derail, but any speculation about how they are revamping this product?

At least I assume that’s the reason for the deep discount…

Its says they’re going to a truly integrated monocrown instead of just the crown with the channel.

I’m assuming they’re going to take them back since I bought a bunch and plan on returning what I don’t like.

The new ones have a true monocrown, they’re available on the website now.

I just bought an oversized figure eight bridle. I neither need a figure eight bridle nor do I currently have an oversized horse. What is wrong with me?

Well, y’all, like I said, anyone who decides they don’t want the cob raised fancy stitched they just bought, holler. I mentioned this deal to a few people at a show today with oversized horse heads. Can’t beat the price!

I will keep you in mind. Hopefully, I won’t need to give up my super buy, but I’d rather pass it on, than send it back and SmartPak would appreciate it, as well, I’m sure.

Thank goodness my horse has an o/s head! I definitely don’t need a bridle (Just got ANOTHER new one in the mail today!) but I couldn’t pass up that kind of a deal.
Thanks for the psa!

If anyone ends up with a cob they dotn want or doesn’t fit, let me know!

Thank you so much for posting this! I nabbed the pony size (just what we needed) bridle + martingale for $113… tax and shipping included. I’m so happy I may cry!

A lot of the cob sizes were sold out well before this super-sale… I know, because I was looking when they were only on little-sale, and they were sold out then.

I did hesitate at buying a martingale, and I’m annoyed with myself for that one.
