Slow down the playback. She did not touch his arm with the mic. It only touched his arm when he swatted at it.
She. Did. Not. Touch. Him.
Nothing excuses him.

Without going into too much detail, Anthony Thomas has a horrendous reputation for the conditions of horses on his property. I have seen a horse extracted from his place by it’s horrified owner in an awful condition.
He is a repugnant individual.
That was horrible. Another one that needs banning.
There seem to be an awful lot of horse abusers out there.
Re Cesar Parra, I wonder if he is afraid to travel because of legal concerns. Is anyone aware of any progress of the human trafficking investigation underway against him? That could put him in serious trouble.
Awful given the dimensions.
What happens now ? Does the FEI try again ?
What I don’t understand is why people bringing proof of horse abuse to the appropriate authorities would be paying any legal fees. I would think that those costs would be footed by the national federations or the FEI.
He stays suspended.
While I can’t speak to this specific situation, a long time ago a friend reported a neighbor for animal abuse and said neighbor promptly filed a bunch of civil charges (harassment, trespassing, etc) in the hopes of makes her change her mind about testifying. I wonder if similar things happen in other cases…
Yes, but what leverage does the FEI have now to get the case moving.
None, other than excluding him from FEI competition. They aren’t a legal entity, they can’t subpoena him to make him show up.
I believe that every National Federation (not just USEF) has reciprocity with FEI suspensions, so he’ll be unable to compete in any recognized National competitions in any country that is a member of the FEI, as well as in any FEI competition. Someone please correct me if I am wrong in my understanding.
Any criminal or civil charges are handled by law enforcement. The FEI is a big time riding club who can exclude people from participating, but that’s the extent of their reach.
Peter Storr is not someone who should be judging anyone. I’m disappointed he was permitted to judge here.
The FEI is signing their own death certificate. The US needs to suspend Parra permanently and the FEI needs to as well.
These people are like a clown show. But not funny clowns. Rather the scary, horror show clowns like John Wayne Gacey, Killer Clown and Pennywise because they are killing the sport with their corruption.
Rome always falls.
Yet another one with an anger management issue
Shocking, deplorable behavior. Good that it was caught on video. She should be banned by USEF. Anyone want to bet that will happen? No? Smart people here.
anyone with USEF membership can keep track of this violation. Since it happened in the show ring ( and I hear , after) it should be open and closed, though there will be due process
What about people-- longtime clients, especially other professionals-- who have had an extended and very public history of riding with Cesar and employing his methods? Individuals who have given exactly zero effs about riding with such a monster and there is plenty of photographic/video evidence all over their social media accounts documenting said partnership? Will they ever be held accountable?
Held accountable for what ? Unless the clients and other professionals are on a video doing the same terrible things, I don’t see how they can be charged with anything by USEF and/or the FEI, unless the abuse happened, and was officially reported, at a show.
Cesar was videoed at his barn, which for awhile, seemed to give him a kind of immunity from USEF.
The FEI suspended Parra which is good, because they have deeper pockets and more reach than USEF.
He’s only suspended by USEF because they have reciprocity with FEI suspensions.
From Dressage News
Any news on how the hearing went or will that also take forever?
It’ll take awhile.
The FEI tribunal has to make a decision and put their decision in writing, as well as their reasoning for the decision and for any punishment. Since they don’t want to be overturned by the CAS it has to be done carefully and thoroughly.
ETA It was approximately seven months after Andy Kocher’s hearing regarding his electric spurs, that the FEI rendered their decision.
