What are you paying your farrier for a full trim these days?

Curious. All my horses are barefoot.

$80 for a trim here.

$45 for a trim.

$65 every 5 weeks

$40. My farrier should raise his prices. I tip well.

I evidently need to be paying more. My farrier lives very close by and my horses are super to do, but I’ve obviously been getting a bargain!

$50, but that includes $10 extra for his travel.

$40/trim

$30 for a full trim and $90 for full shoes. He’s a therapeutic farrier my vet referred me to when one of the horses needed extra attention. He’s great and travels all over SoCal.

I think I’m paying $65 (there’s a travel fee and I honestly forget the exact breakdown).

I don’t need to be paying that much for this area; we have a plethora of very cheap farriers around here. If you surveyed others in my area, you’d probably find they spend a lot less.

But around here, the adage hold true that you get what you pay for and I was seeing too many hoof issues with the guys charging $30 or so in this area. I’d rather pay the extra money for higher quality now instead of dealing with problems later.

Just paid $160 for four.

MissAriel… I just sent you the name and number.
Texarkana - I agree with about getting what you pay for - up to a point. I was paying more and had two of the more expensive schmucks ruin my horses feet. It’s really the quality you have to find.

My horse came with his own barefoot trimmer! Even though I am two states away, she did trim some horses in my state. I pay $75. I used to pay $200 to another farrier for shoes for my previous horse, so I am happy!
