$75 My trimmer comes from quite far away, well over an hours drive so I don’t mind the price – and she’s excellent.
I think it helps with comparisons if posters can give an idea of what four shoes (uncomplicated) tend to run in their area.
$40 for a trim, $100 for standard front shoes ($120 for bars with pads), $160 for 4 standard shoes in MN
$30 every 6 to 7 to even 8 weeks
Barefoot TWH, Hackney Pony & mini.
I offered to build him a platform (like a milking stand) for the mini, but he said No Thanks.
I have held horses for a friend who is also a customer & he pays $40
Maybe my discount is for the almost-20yrs I’ve used him.
He comes to my barn with his son & they’re out of here in under an hour.
I don’t have a clue what he charges for shoes or resets.
The only time I needed shoes was glue-ons for a badly-abcessed TB and he told me he did not invest in the eqpt needed, but found me someone who did.
$45 in Charlotte, NC area.
Barefoot trimmer $40, no travel fee since I’m having three trimmed, plus I know my horses are angels compared to some of the ones she trims. Sometimes I do them myself, trimmer is okay with doing them every 6/7 weeks or months between trims if I’ve done them. I always trim my mini myself, but it’s full prices for a mini too.
Our other horses are Standardbred race horses, and 4 shoes is around $80/90 - with winter shoes with corks under $150.
More typical farrier is $50/60 for a trim and $150-200+ for 4 plain shoes. I know a few farriers who have stopped shoeing race horses because they can make double or more shoeing riding horses.
$35, I think my farrier plans his route and most stables are close by therefore no travel fees. I have never thought of tipping a farrier nor have I heard of it before.
$50 in southern WI. He does most of the horses in the barn so there is no travel fee.
I’m the trimmer

$30 trim (barefoot), $65 fronts regular / $90+ fronts special (pads, bars, etc.), $130 all four regular.

Full basic shoe (steel) is $150, every 6 weeks

$45 for a trim, $90 if with shoes in front???
I don’t ask, just pay whatever and add a bit more “for his gas”.
We are way out of the way from anywhere.
40 for a trim, 70 for fronts only, 85 for all four. Love my farrier of 10+ years, he’s great. Three horses at home , one donkey done every other time.
$40 and no travel fee in Middle TN.
Who might this be? I am in the Moorpark/Thousand Oaks area and it seems full shoes is at least $150…
We paid (bribed!) our farrier with 60 a trim to come out of his area. Since we moved the horses home it’s 45 each. Love him, worth every penny.
