What are your favorite trailer dressing room improvements?

I just bought a new Hawk two horse slant (Princess hates straight loads). Just wondering what others have done or seen to make a dressing room great.

I put down a high quality carpet. The one the came with the trailer was cheap looking. I also got rid of the aluminum-looking saddle racks.

I had a shelf put in by Hawk that is in the nose of the trailer so I’ve got some storage up top and can hang things off the clothing bar. Trying to keep as much as I can off the floor to increase what I can put in the dressage room plus have things still accessible.

I have a 2 horse straight load Hawk. I had Hawk put rubber mats in instead of carpet (LOVE!)

I put a tool rack in (for my broom, shovel and fork) and a whip rack in. Those were great cheap additions. I have an extra light in there and a fan. Some people have standing drawer organizers for their small stuff, which I think works great. i have a small Sportote tack box with a padded seat in there and I store smaller items in it and can sit on it too.

Why wouldn’t you want to keep that stinky stuff in the bed of the pickup?

I installed a paper towel holder on the wall next to the door.

So simple but so brilliant. Thank you for reminding me I need to do this.

This is something really small too - I have one of those door organizers hanging on the door. In it, I keep: Spurs, fly spray, a mister bottle, spare clips and chains, and various other small things. Then I got a piece of a T-post cover (basically, an 18 " cylinder with a bottom on it - you could use PVC with a cap too) and shoved it in one of the bottom sections of the organizer - I can fit 3 dressage whips in it.

I also got one of those little mesh “locker organizers” that has a magnet on the back, and put that up on my wall for pens, a highlighter, and a small notebook. I keep a few magnets to post show schedules too.

A clock on the door.

I am sooo following this thread! I’m ordering a featherlight soon and am trying to figure out exactly what I need and want.

The rubber in the dressing room is a fantastic idea!

I have a Hawk and my fave additions were: clothing bar to hang show clothes, storage bench, fan. Bench being my #1 favorite

My next installation is going to be a boot rack that attaches to the wall. The type that holds the shoe part so the rest of the boot hangs upside down. It will let the inside of my tall boots dry without loosing the tall part. Gets them and my Wellies off the floor too.

My tack room came equipped with a full length mirror, and that has been useful.

DH built me a tack truck into the V nose of the dressing room. It has carpet on the top. It holds a lot of stuff and is comfortable to sit on to put on boots.
I added a short whip holder.
I added rings above the bulk head window and that is where I bungee my 2 stadium chairs. I also put a rubber mat on the floor.
I wrapped the saddle racks with pipe wrap so it won’t dent my saddles if I leave them in over night.

Check out www.organizedbarn.com and look at their trailer dressing room storage system. This looks like you could pack a lot of equipment in a minimal amount of space.

A camp toilet with kitty litter in its liner. No rushing for the porta-loo just before mounting up.

I have a utility knife velcro’ed within easy quick reach right inside the dressing room door, and right inside the rear tack in the back.

Knock on wood I’ve never needed my emergency utility knife, but it’s nice to have it there. Just bought some regular adhesive-sided velcro to do it.

Roof vent with fan, camper door, insulation, and a couple outlets. I love camping in my tiny dressing room in my cot and having a heater expands my options.

Sounds nice!
