What common sale ad phrases make you chuckle?

My older Shire was originally part of a pair: Bud and Lite. Which I thought a bit misleading seeing as he is a Shire and not a Clyde I also know a Crown and Royal, but those are oxen.

Should really start another thread… :smirk:
Feedstore had a feeder calf in a pen inside the store for a while.
I asked if they named him.
Answer: Ribeye

Well, I have a 14yo Quadruple Pearl Cremello Blagdon Grey stallion that might be homozygeous, but I’m not spending the money to test. Yours for $75k, as long as you can drag him onto a trailer. He’s too pretty to halter break.

Not a horse-for-sale ad but my local Craigslist currently has a listing for Horse Collards. Yum.

A friend of mine showed steers as a 4H kid: his last one his senior year of high school was named Tuition. I currently work in a feed store and a regular family has a pet pig named Bacon.

Back when I was a short stirrup kid, there was a pony we saw frequently at shows named…‘Grandma’s Money’. People cracked up every time they were announced.

You must be in my upper PNW corner of the world?

Right across the sound from you, on the mainland.

I know who this is, too, & she is super sketchy.

Oh shucks! Normally I have to kick all four tires before I low ball an offer (you’ll take payments right?).

:joy: The family on Alaska, The Final Frontier had a horse that could work cattle by itself. There was an episode where one of them is moving a herd & the second horse with him is 100s of yards away, holding the opposite side of the herd by his lonesome. Until the camera zoomed in, I thought it had a rider!

Not quite as impressive as drugging cattle. But, hey. In my budget, I’ll take what I can get.

“very genital” and “guilding” for gelding.

I’m cracking up because I just saw the opposite while scrolling through my IG feed from one of those #Horsesareamazing!! type of pages. A picture of a stunning Ahil Teke stallion captioned…

“Brown horse :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

“Due to the owner’s failing health” or “Vet bills force sale”. I see this constantly. Makes me wonder if a catastrophic accident caused the vet bills and the failing health LOL.

I bought a 2yr old Appendix gelding - for myself vs the horse crazy daughters - and I had the thought to name him ‘Joan’s Sofa’ bc I wasn’t getting any living room furniture that yr !

My DH bought a share in a racehorse with the money that was supposed to buy us a new living room suite. His stable name was ‘Couch’
