What horsey stuff is Santa bringing you?

I got a Draft Horse size (60") calf-skin covered 1/2" wide pair of reins with stops to use as my curb rein for my Home Horse double bridle extension. This is to replace the 5/8" wide plain curb rein (a real one sewn in the middle). I need all the help I can get to keep my hands even on the reins.

Stopped at the local feed store yesterday to pickup a bag of feed for the older mare, store manager said “come here, I have something for you since You use Standlee Teff pellets” as she hands me Ten coupons for any Standlee product Free of a valued up to $21.99

We use the Standlee Teff pellets and the Stall Fresh which the store does bring in specifically for us.

Santa pre-gifted me a Camp Corral set up. It is 8 five-foot panels made out of heavy duty pvc and is (by section) foldable. It can be electrified and/or attached to my trailer. My otherwise perfect boy refuses to stand tied to the tailer although he is generally good with being cross tied. He does best when there is a barrier behind him. It is such a pain to take him anywhere without having a stall to put him in. This system allows me to do the set up on this by myself. We have been practicing and so far, he has not offered to pull back even once.

I’m sad to hear about your horse :sob:

Have you looked into a Pivo? They are fairly inexpensive and follow and record using a mobile app.

Santa (the FedEx and UPS drivers) has been at my house a lot recently since I’ve taken advantage of some Black Friday and other sales, so I’ve got:

Aluminum safety stirrups
Winter breeches
Show breeches
Show pads
Winter boots that I can ride in in a pinch
Two new dressage whips (my horse is in a phase and two whips help when she sticks to the ground)

The custom Celeris dressage boots I ordered in August are supposed to be ready any day, so I’m hoping they show up shortly after Christmas.

Now to not buy anything for several months!

Oooo. Like the idea of parking it and leaving it running.

No! Not your new girl, I hope?? :frowning: Big hugs. What’s the game plan?

Yeah. It’s not definitive but everything else checks out fine and her symptoms point to internal cancer, so that’s the vet’s assumption. There aren’t a lot of diagnostic options to confirm (that I’m willing to pay for) or treatment options, so we are just managing her and hoping she gets better. If she gets worse, then we’ll know.

Today is a rare day off for both of us.

Work the horses, feed.
Go into town for a Big Breakfast.
Go to the next town to get a proper mounting block for us for Christmas.
Go shopping for secret santas for a Christmas Party and …
We will go and see the latest Avatar movie in 3D.
Home to feed.

Santa came early this year when I suddenly had to replace my horses water tub in Nov.

My 16 gallon heated tub started sparking and smoking when I went to dump it one day. The cord had ( somehow) melted into the tub itself. I wondered why it wasn’t heating as well…

I had it 11 years so I got my money’s worth.

Stateline had the vari- layer Rhino Wug for $159!

Omg that’s truly awful news and I’m so sorry you have to contend with that. Especially at Christmas. Many hugs and much empathy. Keeping horse’s healthy is honestly the best gift any of us could ever ask for.

A Rapid Groom horse vacuum. It was -2 degrees here this morning, so too cold to rinse off my hairy yak horses. The vacuum helps a lot when bathing isn’t an option.

Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I’m sad you are in this position with her, and so glad she got someone like you who cares enough. Really hoping she gets better. :hugs:

Santa brought me the Fergus books a couple of years ago. I’ll read Fergus and the Night Before Christmas at the kids’ camps at the barn on Thursday and Friday.

I just bought myself a new pair of Tuffrider boots (the synthetics) at a used price. Was going to buy new half chaps, but hey.

And I bought a Dover Circuit saddle. $150. and it’s only about 6 years old!!! I had said to myself (when I saw the ad and thought it was older) “well, if I need to have the billets resewn, it will still be a good deal” but the billets are just fine thank you! Was checking it out for a friend of mine whose horse needs a wide tree, but unfortunately, the seat size doesn’t suit her. So, now it’s mine!! My 2nd lease horse needs a wide tree, so that’s good, too.

I’m back up to 5 saddles and I don’t own a horse anymore…

c’mon christmas, hurry up!

i asked for new leather care things,

I learned to be more specific as if I asked for “leather care things” I would have most likely ended up getting a cow

Forget the handycam just get a gimble for you cell phone. If you have the new Iphone 14 pro max it has “active” mode while filming which performs like a gimble stabilizing the video. I can run down my driveway while filming and there is zero bounce its nothing short of amazing. People film full length movies with iphones nowadays so I can’t imagine why you would buy a video camera.

Very nice!! I got a good on one HIs website for the zero fill too. If they go on sale again I’m probably going to pick up a second. Mine has the higher neck but not the hood and I really like that design.
