What is your favorite "type" of cat?

Um, let me see! I know I do, but I will have to find them when I get home. Here’s a couple of my other cats, though:

This is Angel. I lost her in 2019. She was a rescue from a hoarding situation and had to have her eye removed at about five weeks.

This is Tiny with his uncle Rascal, who I lost in 2020 to kidney failure.

Here’s a pic of Meow that came up on my Facebook memories today.
That’s a regular size ottoman…

Yes, generally they’re very talkative. They don’t have the cutesy “mew” the average house cat has. Their voices are deep and LOUD.

Hopefully the link works. When our boy was alive, this was the daily soundtrack to our house. He always had a lot to say and wasn’t shy about it.

Meow was definitely a Marmalade Man!

What a gorgeous boy he was!

He really, really was, from the day I met him as a tiny kitten.

 Whatever Squacks was talking about woke my Bounce from a nap on my shoulder! :scream_cat:
Cheeto merely opened an eye from his neatby perch on the back of the sofa :smirk_cat:

Lol, Squack’s is right beside his treats and is asking politely.

Ralph is also extremely vocal when he’s asking for a treat or when he’s going through the house with a pom pom in his mouth. He’s also quite loud when we play our version of Marco Polo.

Hah! And that’s why I like Maine Coons. HUGE cat. Itty-bitty meow…

This was one of my favorite pics, Zifu, aka the Big Z and Zazu, when he was a tiny kitten (he is not tiny anymore). I lost Zifu about a year ago, and the Big Z left a coonasauras sized hole in all our hearts. Zazu had stepped into his ginormous paws though, he was only kind of a snuggler before, now he’s a maximum snuggler.

The house also has Vivi and Ruty, just your basic normal fluffy cats and the newest edition, Atticus Finch, the foster fail. An orange and white tabby with all the cocky assurance of his kind. He cracks me up. The picture is one of him practicing maximum cute. He’s got it nailed, I think…

Oh, yeah, and I’m on the waiting list for another MC, probably this summer

How do you play Marco Polo with a cat? Inquiring minds want to know.

I found one! This is from several years ago, but she doesn’t look really any different, even though she’s almost 17. My OG, my Psycho Demon Cat From Hell, my silly Michaleen.

When Ralph is in another room or on another floor and hasn’t seen me in awhile he will meow very loud. I reply “Ralphie!”, he meows loudly again, I say “Nutter!”, he meows getting closer, I call “insert one of his multitude of nicknames”, he meows more softly because he’s getting even closer. This continues until he’s either around a corner or right behind me and launches himself at me expecting me to catch him. His idea of “I found you now catch me!”, most of the time I can hear when he’s closer and prepare myself for the cat launch.

Omg that’s so cute!!

My first all mine cat, Kiki, came when I called him his very first night with me.

My John Coltrane(red tabby/maine coon) has a huge meow when he chooses to use it, otherwise he most often just lets out little squeaks.

He is also the most people friendly cat I’ve ever had. If a burglar came in he would be ecstatic with someone new to pat him.

He heard the love and trust in your voice.

They know.

That would be worth a video. Too cute.

Olly used to do that. I could hear him shouting away somewhere and would call him and the softer my voice was the quieter he got. He would get right next to me and be ever so tiny voiced. He had quite the vocal range on him. I surely miss him.

Hah! I call Zazu a fishwife when it’s time for food, such an obnoxious noise comes out of that cat! The rest of the time it’s squeaks and chirps
