What’s on your wishlist this holiday season?

Yes I’m getting ahead of myself here but I’m sick and have time to endlessly online-window shop so please indulge me. Plus I like to be prepared for the November sales. What’s on everyone’s list this year?

So far I’m tossing around the idea of a Mattes pad from Hufglocken for my horse that likes the fuzzies, potentially a new girth for both horses (want to try either the Stubben Equisoft or WOW FreeSpace), a bridle for my TB who no longer has her own after being out of work for a while, and maybe a nice surcingle and lunge cavesson (looking at the QHP one).

The dog will be getting a new bed and potentially some puzzle toys.

I rate the WOW FreeSpace girths

I vote for go big or go home, so I would love to update my tow vehicle and trailer, but budget says no :sob:

The two horsey things on my list are a surcingle and lunging cavesson. I don’t NEED them (can borrow a surcingle and make do without a cavesson) but would put them to good use if I had them.

I am trying to decide what to put on my list for the family gift exchange for $50USD. I need some variety of choice for the person who has my name. So far I have golf balls and a Yeti mug. Honestly I don’t NEED anything which makes it so very hard to put things on a list for gift givers who want to give a thing. We are trying to phase out giving gifts and instead just enjoy spending time together, but we have some folks in our family who truly just love watching everyone open the presents that they put so much care into choosing and wrapping. So it’s hard to take that away from them!

I want a pony.

An oversized one. But not too big. With chrome. And good hair.

So I want a cob, not a pony, I guess.

I could use a new surcingle also. Has anyone found one that they like? I have a cheap nylon one and it seems very pinchy and my mare is not a fan.

Flex-on stirrups for me and a clear vet report on my intermittently lame horse…so a rehab plan would be the perfect gift for her!

A dishwasher!

It will be horse related when I throw all the bits and brushes in it.

The only ones I’ve found that I like (number of rings, padding, etc) happen to be ridiculously expensive ($500~ ). I’m thinking about having one custom made, maybe in biothane so it can be dunked in a bucket and not added to the list of leather items that require special care (and mold here in our humid summers).

I like mine to take a standard girth, though. I wonder if they could customize a little, for an affordable price?

I’m going to call this horse-related; I’ve pre-ordered both the horse and sleigh (which my husband liked as much as I did when I showed him the pictures). This is our major Christmas decor splurge:

Tuition to Julie Winkle’s adult horse camp next year. A friend just got back from it and had SO much fun - I feel like I need to go!

If we are listing outrageous dreams: a new truck OR a new trailer. I’d like to comfortably haul two bigger horses down to GA to show - I don’t like my rig with more than one in the mountains. Bigger truck or a new euro reverse load.

Freedman’s Harness has a lovely surcingle.

Human gifts: an engagement ring (it’s been ordered and just shipped today, hehe) and our parents helping us pay for our upcoming cross-country move, yanno since we aren’t have a wedding but are in fact accepting donations to hire movers… wink wink

Horse gifts: I think I am going to get an equiband for mare. I would really like an equisense too but that’s going to have to wait until after the move!

Man, $1500 for camp!!

Acavallo safety stirrups in black for my dressage saddle. I have them in blue on my jump saddle and love them

PS Sweden hackamore for my big mare.

New bit for my little mare.

More pairs of Kunkel gloves. I got a mesh back pair and they fit and seem to be holding up well.

Dreaming big a full Bemer set.

I know… but my friend is of the opinion that the horses and instruction were quality, plus the food and wine and beautiful accommodations. I worked a sleep away camp (for kids) that tuition was $6k - it’s pretty crazy what’s out there!

I’m thinking about a Pivo. I really need some video, mostly so I can show my vet what’s going on when I need to.

Otherwise, I could use a new knee. But not this Christmas, lol.

Ooh, this looks like the most fun!

Some new teeth. Prefer implants, dentures will do too.

Or a gift certificate for either of the above, plus extracting all my homegrown ones.

A car, driver, and gas money to Alabama. Or a USAF/USN pilot and a DC3.

An Air ride hitch so that my little princess of a mustang can ride in the trailer in comfort.
