What's in a name?

Um, well lets see when I was at e-search I was Tin or TinCan, the name of my gelding. But now I’m Jaded because it’s in a song I was listening too when I registered here I’m trying to get it changed to Tin again but have exasted my tries

Dudley is my Beagle dog.

My grandmother’s name was Lillian and her nickname was Cactus Lil. She was the original horsewoman in our family so I think I must’ve inherited her genes.

My family and friends all call me Sadie which you could say is short for Sara, actually it is longer. Anyways when I registered “Sadie” was already taken so I added 05 to the end to make it work.

Duffy is now an official member of the ‘One Thousand Club’.

My pony’s barn name is Wonder–you can figure out the rest!

Jaded - send an email to Erin, expaining what you want to do. Maybe she can help you.

Fun topic! Mine, sadly, is pretty self-explanatory … I’m nuts about horses!

My other “handle” which I use on another board is more fun – it’s Anniebob. The nickname came from my brother-in-law who has to have a nickname for everybody. My name is Anne and he named me after a line in the movie “Halloween” (one of his faves) where a character calls out “Annie? Bob? Lindaaaaaaa?” After all that it turns out he misquoted the movie! But the nickname stuck.

My daughter rides ponies (PONIES RULE!) and I am a lawyer; hence PONYESQ(uire).

Nancy -

Actually, I think I became the wicked stepmother before “wicked” started to mean “good”! It was more of a joke - Cinderella stuff, because the stepdaughter was that age when this came up. So, I call her “Wacky” so that we match.

I like the loco parentis thing. But I’ve been very lucky - Wacky is great, and has added to my life much more than I to hers.

Actuall New Canaan Mounted Troop was founded in the 30’s by Margaret Cabell Self as a part of the Junior Calvery of America (I think there were other Troops in Montclair and Essex) - and so we had uniforms we wore for “reviews”, the older kids were officers and had responsibilities to look after and teach the younger kids … it wasn’t really all that military by the time I got there, but its origins were sort of!

My horse’s show name is Of Regal Means and I thought Ofregalmeans looked funny - hence Regalmeans.

Sarah

Well dang, forgot to say that Louise is my middle name, and that when I first registered here, I was so new to the internet that I didn’t realize all caps was shouting. Now I am stuck, because I am LOUISE, and changing my name would feel like changing my personality.

Canter is what I do.

I am known to be more than a little oppinionated, self-appreciating & spunky. Or as my husband fondly puts it… SASSY.

Duffy (just a little trivia). The name of your first family pet + your mother’s maiden name = your cross-dressing alias. Rusty Ramsey here.

Well let’s see my handle is Child Equtation Rider and that’s what I do I stink at anything else!! LOL and I have one horse looking for another (the one I’m hoping to get doesn’t have a name yet we’re just calling 322 for the number on his neck) and my current horse’s name is Hansel Rag or Rag so I figured HanselRag was a little weird and I was just going to change it so…

Me too. But it would have been fall of '66. My first show with my first horse (after sharing a pony with my sister for about a year). I still have a picture somewhere.
