Where are all of the Trick or Treaters?

omg Lexi-
YOur sooooooooooooo lucky! I can’t stand these little kids swarming around saying give me candy!

ARGH, little kids with no manners these days… where in concord are you??? i’m 10 or so minutes from Gretchen A.'s place…

omg, trying to hand out candy with 1 arm is hard! < went to dr’s after falling off horse yesterday… to make a long story short, riding bareback and horse spooked and bam, me on the ground… landing on elbow, got 4 xrays and some meds only to find out that I have an upper respit. infection ONCE AGAIN! So, walked out of drs office with 4 scrips! YUCK!

Isn’t it nice when its raining, it certainly felt like it was freezing rain<or could be> because it was ssooooo darn cold!

OMG, Ty and Missy look like twins. Ty didn’t happen to come from Alberta did he?

Gofer! What happened? Is he ok? Poor little guy.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!!

It is five pm where I live, and the streets are deserted!! Usually the younger kids are out with their parents around now.

Have the recent events in America kept people inside? I hope not. This is exactly the type of reaction terrorists are after.

Is anyone else noticing this or is this just a freak thing in my neghborhood?

Horse Related- I would have one riding but I wanted to be here to hand out candy!

I’m afraid any Trick or Treaters in my hallway will have to settle for microwave popcorn and some single-serving bottles of liquor from my last plane trip. Or Sweet Lumps. I haven’t seen one since 1992.

“People… they’re so
complicated. I suppose
that’s why I prefer
horses.”

8 PM here and not a single trick-or-treater - we would usually have several groups at least by now.

I didn’t get any this year. But I don’t think it’s the terrorists because I didn’t get any last year either. I live in a suburban cul de sac, so you’d think I’d get a lot. However, I’ve heard that most kids in our area go to the planned activities at local schools, malls, churches, etc. A lot of my friends who are parents have said they don’t feel safe having their kids knock on “strangers’ doors.” Kind of sad. You shouldn’t be strangers with your neighbors!

Well, in my on campus apartments I got maybe 20…which is good since this is the 1st year they have these apartments–mainly it was faculty/staff with their kids so it was very intersting!

But…from my hometown about 3 hours away…my neighborhood didn’t decline numbers (even tho some people were probably wishing they had) my dad said they still got 600-800 trick or treaters

normally we get noone but this year all of my daughters school friends came by !! we had several .It was nice I had decorated drive way with pretty lumiares candles shining thru ( this a.m. my neighbor commented on how pretty every thing was)and had carved pumpikns on steps !! It was lovely.I think the usual haunts were not visited due to terrorism scares!

Aww… I hope the little guy is OK Gofer!!

I had a little one stop in who had a candy collector like your pumpkin, except it was in the shape of a monster like outstretched hadn with a bag in the palm! He pressed the button and it said “Trick or Treat”. Once he got the candy he pressed the button again and it said “Thank You”

His mom told me they got it because he wouldn’t talk last year! So his ‘hand’ does the talking for him

ya there’s no one at our house either
though I think that may just be because we are in the middle of nowhere and our driveway is about a mile long

Hope little ghosts show up soon, remember most parents are just getting home

It was crazy here between the hours of 3:30 and 5:30pm! Door bells ringing non-stop, dogs going nuts, and at one point there were at least 20 (young) kids at my door at once they emptied out my huge candy basket…it was like the day of the locust!

I think all the kiddies are in for the night, but we’ll probably get a few older kids before the night is over.

we got two kids!!! yay! A vampire and a goblin witch.
Actually it was the children of the guy who welded our tractor and he saw our pumpkin.

Actually I think what’s more exciting than having trick or treaters at our door is that someone actually saw my pumpkin from the road!!

Attendance was really down this year in our neighborhood compared to last year. Now we have all of this candy- and you know who has to finish it all so that it doesn’t go to waste…

We had over 200 people for our yearly neighborhood Halloween parade, which is always a lot of fun.

We had only about half the number of trick or treaters we normally get though, about 30.

Oh no Gofer!!

Tell us he’s a happier camper now?

It’s no fun when your babies are in the hospital

I have heard many, many parents say that they weren’t letting their kids go out this year. There were lots of “alternative” events going on in Austin, so I think that’s where a lot of the kids went instead.

We usually get about a 45 minute whirlwind preceded by the really cute tots w/parents and finished off by the acne faced “Gimme the stuff” sorts about an hour later.

I am missing the Winglet. He did Halloween duty.
