we ended up having some fun-the kids had dance class until 7, but we raced home and in the meantime the rain stopped and it almost cleared to be able to see the AWESOME full moon. WE had a little girl who lived in the country come with us (she is almost 2, and was a cow.)-along with my 11 yo and 9 yo. They both decided that having a cute little kid with you definitely rates more and better candy! We just stuck to our neighborhood, but have to say there were very few kids out. Since that was the case, many homes gave 3 and 4 items ot each kid, so they ended up with quite a haul for only covering about 1/2 of what we normally do. It was cold and we were tired, but it was so sweet to see this little girl saying “trick or treat” and Bye Ba-yeeeeee and Thank you in the little girl voice. She got WAY into this thing, no stopping her for nexy year I bet
I just pillaged my daughter’s bag and had a Twix and Baby Ruth for lunch -wanted the Butterfinger, but I know she has probably counted those. I hate it when kids get smart on ya.
I am glad we went, and judging from the reactions of the candy-givers, they were excited to see us and expressed it many times. Many echo what has been said here, that they were disappointed not to see more kids…
Maybe next year, eh?
