Where to find higher level, quality dressage horse

Yes.

Jeremy sent a friend he knew was looking to my trainer because he had the type of horses that person was looking for. It took seeing horses in person AND knowing the buyer’s desires as well.

When I had to sell my FEI stallion - I didn’t advertise - I just told one of my favorite clinicians. He called a few clients, and first one that came out bought him - fabulous home, and no trauma of a zillion strangers coming and trying him. Realize with some horses, that is the way they are sold - so yes, you need to let clinicians and trainers know you are looking.

OP, which are the BNtrainers you like?
No need to have trained with them, but it could help people giving you suggestions.

@ToN Farm I think the OP might be riding at 3-4th level already but want something that could go higher.
The OP stated S/HE was looking for a 4th level horse under 10yrs old that has potential to go higher.

A 9yrs old doing 4th is not out of the ordinary and if properly trained, with some talent, should indeed have started half steps, a little piaffe/passage and surely some of the tempi work.

What the OP doesn’t seem to want is fully retraining a horse that’s been « not correctly » brought up. She wants a horse that is somewhat confirmed at 4th to go on with the training from there.
And, IMHO, that’s why a definition of what is « correct » dressage for His/Her is needed.

… He, she, gender fluid… Sorry I typed fast and without thinking I would offend someone.

I’ll correct it with s/he. Will that be ok with you?

Sent you a PM! thanks!

sent you a PM!

OP is a guy, as far as I know.

EmeraldOaksFarmOcala on Facebook. They have two PREs are interesting: one is 10 , the other 7. They bring a few horses from Spain periodically. Owner has done a lovely job bringing her own horse to GP.

They are a different ride from a WB but worth considering!

If you are at all interested, I can PM you the link to the video and introduce you to the trainer (someone I know). Nothing may come of it but I’m happy to do it. PM me if you want to take that step.

I want to stay in the low 6 figure range.

WOW - You are 100% correct! I can ride decently though a PSG test. This is with my soon 16 yr old horse. We might progress a bit further yet. My other horse is turning 14 yrs but he is struggling physically with the degree of collection at 4th and just injured himself again and I might need to retire him. Had him since a 3 yr old and he has had a raft of injuries and therefore training issues. I am getting to an age where I dont want to start at 4 or 5 again and even if I would. there is no guarantee the horse is going to make it to the upper levels .So, I am looking for younger horse that has confirmed changes and demonstrates the mental and physical ability to collect.

Some of the riders I like are Helen Langehanenberger, David Markus, Nicolas Fiffe, Sahar daniel Hirosh, Allison Brock, Bent Jensen, Arthur Kottas, Ingrid Klimke, Uta Graef, Chrisitan Garweg, Kyra K, Hubertus Schmidt, the Hasslers to name a few

I rode with Nicholas Fyffe. He’s very friendly.
You should contact him as there’s a nice lusitano on his business website that might still be for sale and could kinda fit your criteria. Guacamole.
And like every BNT, I’m sure his website is not up to date, so there might be even more horses for sale!

Also, you could contact Jaimey Irwin and even Robert Dover, they are very friendly and quite helpful.

David Marcus and Nicholas Fyffe have a lovely Luisitano for sale right now who exactly fits your criteria and budget, and they generally have a number of similar horses for sale at any given time. Have you reached out to them?

Low 6 figure range.
Maybe it’s one of those, ‘…if you have to ask’ questions, but is that $100k, or $300k, or below $500k?

That is some list of people you’ve ridden with!

Do you intentionally twist words, or was it just a mistake from skimming?

To clarify, OP said those are riders he/she admires. Never did OP claim to have ridden with all of them.

would your opinion on this change if you realized the OP is likely Nick Peronance? Not sure, but that is my hunch.

No skin in the game here but I highly doubt this OP is NP. Occasional posting history since 2011, OP seems to have two geldings, really loves the PS of Sweden bridles and seems to have moved two horses to CO from MD recently :). No off the wall posts either lol. NP posts enough on my local FB group that I am well aware he is still in my neck of the woods.

Good luck in your search OP!
